Just a few minutes ago I was watching CNN, and they were doing a piece on advice as to how to deal with the current stock market plunge. While the
pundit and host discussed approaches like thinking in the long term, and not over reacting to the sudden dips, the usual stuff. They had a graphic on
the screen with the list of talking points written across the screen.
The background of the screen was your typical graphic with what looked like faint writing, in that sort of hand written old historic document style,
like the declaration of independence. I suddenly noticed in the background writing the name Noah. It then occurred to me that what was written was an
excerpt from the biblical story of Noah and the flood. Even though the graphic wasn't up long enough to read the full script, it looked like the part
where God commands Noah to build the ark in preparation for the flood.
Why would they put this as a background for a news item in the financial crisis? In a strange way it is kind of appropriate. It almost seemed as if
what they were saying was sit back, and don't worry, this will blow over. When in a very hidden way they were saying, get ready for the coming
disaster, prepare yourself or you may drown.
Unfortunately I have no video to show as this was a broadcast I caught not long ago. Maybe a half hour at point of writing this.
I'm interested to hear what people think. Is this coincidence, or them really f***ing with our heads?
