Why is it that religious people are so quick to dismiss the "scientific establishment" when it contradicts their religious beliefs yet they are still willing to take advantage of benefits that result from the very beliefs they condemn? They seem more than willling to use the internet, guns, computers, etc. yet they dispute the scientific principles behind these discoveries and inventions. They want to turn back the clock to the way things were when the only sourse of knowledge were they're religious leaders yet they want to keep all the handy modern day inventions that make life easier for them.

If you want to live in the bronze age fine, go find some remote corner of the world and do it just don't try to force me to come with you. Be sure to leave all your guns, internal combustion engines, computers, and modern medicine back in the real world though.

P.S.
I think the real reason the US lags behind other nations in education is because we have people who actually believe in creationist nonsense running things. These wackos actively try to supress the validity of evolution and successfully manage to get their wacko views taught in schools as if there was any scientific merit to their beliefs.
No wonder the US in no longer number one in science.
