Solar Storms...Coming To Hit Earth?

I apologize...my cat hit the send key before I typed anything!

Anyway this morning I am watching CNN news.....and one of the newscasters quickly said that the sun has had 3 magnetic storms...which will probably lead to disruption of satellites etc.

No worries Caladonea happened to me once.

Don't think there is anything to worry about according to spaceweather.com... we had a X7-class solar flare but.

At most, Earth would received a glancing blow from the flank of the cloud on or about August 11th; a complete miss is more likely, however. Stay tuned for updates.

This morning at 0805 UT, the magnetic canopy of sunspot 1263 erupted, producing a powerful X7-class solar flare: SDO movie. The blast caused a brief HF radio blackout on the daylit side of Earth. SOHO coronagraphs show a CME emerging from the blast site. At most, Earth would received a glancing blow from the flank of the cloud on or about August 11th; a complete miss is more likely, however. I have been following the suns activity closely. This is a major solar flare! If the CME produced were aimed directly for earth we could be in trouble, however I don't think this will cause us any major problems.

as of now it does not matter if the cme's arent earth directed at first.

the sun has been throwing a couple curve balls
