If the economies of the whole world crash, I see that as good news. An opportunity for we the people to demand that all debt is written off - and a new, non-corrupt system replaces the old one which has failed the people...again.

Also time to round up all those responsible and let them face the consequences of their corruption in front of a common-law court.

You are right. We need a huge change in the way things are done. Like i said in another post, maybe this change will only come when we are on the brink of something terrible, or after something terrible happens.

If you are talking about my personal opinion on Mexican immigration, I've always said to let them come here. Get them papers as non-citizen workers. Employers have to pay them a legal wage, and they have to pay taxes. So yeah, your straw man just fell down, sorry.

If you are talking about the position of the US government, again your straw man fails. The government isn't really doing anything about illegal immigration, so they are coming here pretty much as freely as can be.

Other than that, you talk about how terrible the USA is, and how great Canada is. Why would any Mexicans want to come here? If the US is so terrible, would we be doing Mexicans a favor by not allowing them to come here?

Would be cool if you really adressed the focus of this thread.
I remember it to those who forgot it : if the whole Western economy crumbles, China will crumble as well, cause 80% of its customers would be broke.
Therefore, China would fall into great civil unrest : 50% of it's workers, work for exportation ...
Thats my guess.
If you want, let's discuss about that.
Canada has nothing to do with this issue.

Good call! My apologies for my part in derailing the thread. I just feel a need to bust bunk when I see it.

If you couldn't tell by my posts already, I'm a firm believer that when/if the west falls we will take a large chunk of the global economy with us, and that includes China. I'm not saying that China is going to descend into the dark ages, but it will definitely take a huge beating.

OP you are right on the money when speaking about China having the manufacturing and the "know how".
Both we're taken from us "lazy westerners" by multinational corporations who don't care where they're making their money as long as the bottom line is met.

I don't think though that China will go down because of what happens in North America ( or Europe for that matter).They will manipulate,lie,steal and fake anything in order to get the allmighty dollar ( is their God ).

We are royally screwed because sooner or later nobody will buy the lie that you don't need jobs to move forward.
China will be fine,they will be buying us chunk by chunk until there's nothing left.

No way that will work. But I have long predicted that Vancouver could become China's colonial capital in North America if the new Chinese empire survives the global meltdown. It is pretty hard to predict where things will end up. We really aren't taking into consideration whats going to happen when all the global trade and resource links start to break once the impacts of economic and social instability start to cascade (excuse me, what am I saying - Isn't it obvious that all of this is already happening?)
