I'm suddenly hungry all this talk about food.

I heard some people treat pigs like pets. I'm about to eat one. It's already been processed though and in my freezer. If I remember correctly, the guy I knew who ate cats said one of the two types tasted like chicken I believe. I can't remember if that was domestic cat or stray cat.

I( feel responsible for them. Sadly more resposible than for some of you #s. laugh all day at those less fortunate. I hope they eat you.

Depends how quickly things go bad. If it is some apocalyptic scenario then I'd eat them if they couldn't be used as a tool for the betterment of my life. If its simply that money got tight then I'd give them away or release them if I thought they could fend for themselves. This is all hypothetical though, I don't have pets.

I feel like keeping an animal for any reason other than it being a worker is wrong. If you have a pet for a friend or emotional love slave - it's wrong. If you are keeping a pet for the sole reason to support it - it's idiotic.

If you take away emotional attachment it really is a good question. The OP

It's the way you worded the scenario. If by sacrifice you meant a religious sacrifice then I think everyone's view would change.

Well, I am a animal lover, but if it comes down to my starvation, I will definitely eat others pets, but not my own, but hopefully I will never have to find out.

Part of me shivers at turning my buddies into cannibals, but it is more in their nature than mine.

First off, you should not have a pet, a slave, if all it is is something you can get an emotional fix off of.

Secondly, this new scenario seems to be hinting at a religious type of sacrifice. If it is a religious kind then it would need to be offered in the name of or to said religious figure for it to be a religious sacrifice.

dogs are great companions and i would never leave mine behind,not only that but there senses are awsome,u could sneak up on me easy enough but try getting past my huskyX,in fact i could even go so far as to say a crutial part of my ability to survive will be getting all the help i can.....

In all seriousness, my partner and I have talked about this.

If we had to leave quickly and on foot, we'd have to kill the dogs as they're elderly and wont make a speedy couple of companions.

If we can escape by vehicle, then we can take them.

If we have to stay at home and we starve, we eat our mastiff first!

That's our loose plan.

Dog is actually very tasty - lived in Vietnam for a while and had cho with noodles.

Only was told what I was eating after I started it. I didn't stop eating after I knew. Tasty!

I have no pets,

I was thinking about getting a new dog though after my last dog died.

No way. My cat is an ace ratter and my dog is better protection than a gun.
