The camera that took the picture was a CANON PowerShot A580, not a Sony.

As ElevenAugust showed, the A580's only has a few native resolutions. 1741 x 1306 is not one of them.

Richard Haines has done some excellent work in the past. But because peer-reviewed journals don't accept papers on UAPs, he's suffered from lack of feedback and sometimes slipped into slovenly ways and made serious errors as people including myself have pointed out on this forum.

Now excellent analysis by UFOGlobe, Chadwickus, Kandinsky, elevenaugust and others has shown that we can no longer trust his image analysis.

We all make mistakes. Let's hope that Haines will now accept his and publish a revised NARCAP paper, acknowledging the points made on this thread, in particular the likelihood, pointed out by UFOGlobe, that this is no UAP, merely a reflection from an IR cut filter.

Honestly though, this is a decent photo with a lot of nice research to follow up on.

Wow, that's just stupid if true. They never look at the quality of the paper, it's just a no?

And people wonder why some of us think there's a cover up and/or agenda going on.

Yes, think it is still largely true.

Of course very few people are qualified to submit papers of the required quality.

Dr Bruce Maccabee, who worked for most of his life as an optical physicist for the US Navy, is so qualified. On one occasion he was even asked to brief President Clinton's science advisor on UFOs.

In one of his online pieces Maccabee discusses this point in the section entitled:

You'll see on the above image that the original size for this photo is 3264*2448, and not 1306*1741, so it's now conform to what we should expect for a Canon Powershot A580 images size to be:



However, the problem remains as there are no higher available resolution than 1024*768; so it confirms that either the cefea doesn't want the higher resolution to be released (for what purpose?) or that they don't have it at all....
