Inside Anonymous, Members Find Shelter in a Collective Voice

Anonymous is the modern, global and anonymous movement based off of Zapatismo political philosophy.

The Zapatistas are a Mexican resistance movement that mobilized big time in 1994 to combat NAFTA (and Western imperialism, of course). They were an anonymous movement; all Zapatistas wear black masks and have fake names.

There was one Zapatista soldier that became the public voice of the movement: he was, of course, "Subcommander Insurgente Marcos". He became the public voice because he was a master of explaining political ideology. While much more can be said about their cause, the fighter known as Marcos has never been caught by desperate authorities.

The point that I am making here is that Anonymous is big on the net, but it needs an actual voice and persona to identify with as a physical person if they really want the masses to mobilize. This person needs to be a pro at understanding and explaining their cause and this person must be prepared to be seen as the voice and even "face" of the movement. Of course they already have the masks, and I'm not saying that this person should be using his real identity.

The fact is that every organization needs an identifiable "leader". I don't think the guy in the OP is it.

There is no central leadership within Anonymous, although people who have been doing it the longest and those with the most affluent skills to utilize tend to have more sway than others.

With that said, anyone with a good idea that is considered and discussed by others can be followed, and instructions brainstormed and given. Even if you're brand new to it,

Being part of something bigger without joining anything means that you're consenting to exploitation and manipulation of your individual will.

A society of conscious individuals is one where the individuals have the power to change their role in the bigger picture, instead of being unconscious and unaware of what they contribute their energy towards.

I think you missed the point. Maybe I wasn't so clear on what I was saying. Maybe I should have said...

I'm pretty choosey when it comes to where I spend my energy or which groups I chose to join. Still even one lowly person like me can make a big differnce. I don't follow others, I don't let other people make my decisions. I make my own decisions and am very aware. So don't even think I am unconcious. That simply isn't true. LOL

The point is there is no need to join in a group to make a differnce, especially an anonymous one at that.

Further, we are all part of something bigger, we are all one, and we are also all different. That probably isn't enough for some to be a part of, and that's okay. I can accept peoples need to be part of something more whether I understand it or not.

You're wrong.

People need to unify in order to make a difference in the bigger picture. There needs to be a vanguard group at the frontlines providing the counter-ideology against the system for there to be a unified following. This is tried and true revolutionary theory.

It was Marx who theorized that revolution happens when the people unanimously rise up. Well, this doesn't happen. The people can't do anything unless they are unified, hence Lenin's revolutionary theory which still applies today for a global stage (and not necessarily in a communist sense either).

There have been people who have made a difference without following ideology, and rather persuing their individual will. Such as Jesus. However, this is next to impossible in modern times because such people are labelled insane or terrorist.

That's just your opinion, nothing more. It doesn't make me wrong or you right. So get over yourself. Individuals can make a difference.
