Operation Northwoods= Operation Iraqi Freedom?????, page 1

Once upon a time (1960's) Operation Northwoods,a cover and deception plan to promote a war and to antagonise the Cuban government contained specific goals to be acheived including long-term military control over Cuba. Now, almost 45 years later, we face this question as we try to stand together on the thin ice our nation seems to be on in the aftermath of a nationally & internationally critisized war....Was the whole thing (9/11 & Iraq) a massive hoax for political purposes?

In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.
The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's then new leader, communist Fidel Castro.
The earlier CIA-backed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba by Cuban exiles had been a disastrous failure, in which the military was not allowed to provide firepower.The military leaders now wanted a shot at it.

Well, now we have proof that our American government is not above using our country to stage a terroristic play in order to acheive whatever it desires. The only question I have now is what do we do to stop this kind of activity?
Certainly, we are a nation that contains many hero's and people who will risk their lives for freedom. But what if the facts show that many have been lied to for the wrong reasons? What if it all comes back to a cover-up of this and that by our President and his administration, as well as administration's past?
I have heard many speak of civil war and that will once again leave us as a country divided. If we can unite for a common purpose on false pretense then who is to say we can't unite on factual evidence? Can we handle the truth? Or are we dooming ourselves to a fate of finding things out 40 yrs in the future? That is if the FOIA is still around.
