it looks like theres a flare happening on the other side of the sun or another bright object has passed infrunt of the sun but not many things can do that so im staying with a solar flare

If you mean the mild CME which occurred around 7/24, 23:00 I don't see any significance. But it can be seen (though not as clearly) that the subtraction occurred on 7/24 at 00:06, quite a while before that.

The "why" is contained in the explanation linked much earlier in this thread.

Not for 13 days or so.

The darkness is not "in front of Venus". The darkness is not anything, it is an area where pixels have been darkened to remove glare, a "mask". The mask was created when Venus was in the image and remains as Venus moves. Because Venus is so bright, the mask is completely black.

Look at these two images. Notice how in the second image (with mask) more stars and details of the corona are visible than in the first (no mask). That is the purpose, to make details of the corona more visible. The "shadow" will remain until the mask is removed or a new one is applied.

ya filter would have blocked the light from venus near completely, if venus would only stay still,,,hahaha

Here is the official word from SOHO:

On July 22nd, Lasco processed new background subtraction images to account for the SOHO roll on this date. You can see the difference very easily by looking at a C3 image from July 22 at 05:06 UT next to an image of July 22 23:42 UT. The "pylon" which holds the occulting disk over the sun in the center is extending from the top right of the images on the early image and extending from the bottom left on the late image.

Once SOHO was in the north roll position we processed a temporary background to clean up the C3 images. You can notice this in C2 also but it is not as large of a change. The artifact you see is the planet venus when it was sitting at the spot using the 2 images of July 22 and July 23. I took median brightness levels of all the images in those 2 days to make an average of intensity of each day then used those 2 days to make a subtraction image.

I hope this helps everyone make heads or tails of it.

I'm not attacking your belief, if it makes you happy then I'm happy for you as well.

I don't however believe god = science, if anything god = anti science because it denies how creation happened etc etc, I'm not getting into that whole mess here as it's not the place but I do think that people (anyone) who bring religion or their spiritual feelings into a scientific forum or topic could well miss the point, all these things MUST be viewed purely in science.

People who say god created aliens, life blah blah blah are fine with their views but lets look at what credible accurate science says as that's something we can actually see and calculate.
