After the tsunami in Japan the news was saying in a few weeks that everything swept out to sea would be on the west coast of the US. I haven't heard anything about it since and wondered if anyone that lives on the west coast has seen anything or if someone in Hawaii has seen anything.

Anything that has a higher density than water is pretty much going to sink to the bottom of the ocean lol. Well that's my opinion haha. If nothing has reached the West Coast yet then it probably went to the abyss.

From the pictures it looked like a tremendous amount of wooden structures were washed out to sea. I also thought that maybe ie ended up in the floating trash pile in the pacific

I imagine anything that floats will end up in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Good thing too. I've read that since the Indian Ocean Tsunami, feet in tennis shoes have been washing up on beaches all over (the body decays, but the bones of the feet stay inside the buoyant tennis shoes - yuck.)

Thanks for the info and the link. I didn't think it would be that long.

Some of it probably will, I'm not sure all of it will.

I'm surprised the simulation doesn't show some of it getting stuck in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch?

Just like all that radiation, it'll end up in your sushi!
