Its not that the comments bother me so much,,Its why do these types come to this site,,much less read a post that they dont agree with to just take the time to write something authoritatively stupid,,then say "nothing here move on" and i hate the word "debunked"....Ther is nothing at all that could be shown on ATS that would stand as proof,,simply because videos and pics and stories arent proof,,,now im not saying im not a beleiver because i am,,i beleive the jerusalem videos were real because the same thing happened the day before in the U.S...the news people thought it was real and they were the ones who put the 2 videos together...even ats considers it a hoax and the evidence for hoax wasnt good evidence,,,,point being,,,why do skeptics come here???shouldnt they be going to a skeptic website?its like they wake up and say hey im bored lets go on ats and make comments that dont make sense and try and piss off the beleivers...im honestly scared to post this because they may debunk me and say im not real........BUT I DO EXIST

The simplest and most obvious answer that I can think of is that we all have diverse interests and we are all practicing our writing 'chops'

Gotta stay sharp.

It helps me to refine my thoughts and ideas and what I think I know by writing on ATS.

You could probably throw me into the debunker or at least the skeptic category as my background is of a scientific nature... meaning that when presented with evidence/data I must first try to evaluate all the possibilities (debunk) and not jump to conclusions (skeptic).

Now as for why I come here... I have always (my entire life) been in to "alternative" topics. UFO's, cryptids, etc. I would not say I am a conspiracy theorist per se, but I do believe there are some fowl things afoot and that the truth lies somewhere between what governments and news tell us and what is discussed on this website.

I love this site because all of those topics I am interested in are discussed here. It isn't just UFO's, or just conspiracy theories... It literally has everything!!

My question is why a complete believer would come to this site? If there is nothing that will sway your beliefs, then you have nothing to discuss. If you just want a bunch of people to agree/like what you say, then you should start a group of like minded people on Facebook or something.

To sum up... I can be swayed, but it must be due to all other possibilities being ruled out. In order to rule out possibilities, the evidence must be discussed not swallowed whole.

Because if they didn't come here and participate, ATS would be a tinfoil hat arts and crafts group.

i like ats because people can post issues and news thats relates to my interests.....ive seen a flying saucer close up in the daytime in 1976,so i know they exist,,,i would never post it here though,,,because as soon as someone can "recreate it" it would be labeled hoax when i know it was real,,i just dont know who was driving it..maybe thats why im here,,to find out,,

Sweet! I honestly can say that I would love to see a UFO with my own eyes, but alas I have not. So I have to watch other people's videos and decide for myself what I think they are. I think it is great that people post their stories on here, whether they have evidence or not. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that will flame others when there is nothing but a story. I will likely never be swayed by a personal story, but that doesn't mean I don't like reading them.

Its why do these types come to this site,,

Speaking for myself, I'm sceptical of alien visitation although I believe they exist in the universe. The reports and vids/pics we see are not enough to make me believe but is enough to peak my interest. Since I started visiting here I've become more sceptical regarding visitation but the subject still interests me and that's why I visit here. So really, most sceptics who visit the UFO section have an interest in UFO's but are not satisfied with the level of evidence available, most ATS sceptics want to believe but won't until there's something real to base the belief on, 99 percent of people who believe aliens visit earth believe on faith alone.

Also, why are you including sceptics in that list? Do you not realise the importance of sceptics on a conspiracy site? Sceptics ask questions that those who already blindly believe would never think of asking. Without sceptics there would be no such thing as the HOAX forum and everyone would go about their business blindly believing everything they see. If I believed in the tooth fairy and you didn't are you a sceptic too? Yes you would be. We're all sceptics in one way or another unless you believe in everything.

A few years ago you probably could have had ATS all to yourself. ATS was much more one-sided then where people such as yourself, OP, pretty well dominated the discussion. Frankly, there was a lot of starry-eyed lunacy back then. But ATS has grown to such an extent that it has attracted "the other side" so to speak. It's a lot more even-handed in that the opposite point of view gets expressed much more than it used to. I think that is a good thing, myself.

It's not debunking.
It's called "peer review"

ATS is great a sorting out the junk from the bunk.

In other words, The ducks need to be in a straight line, and there need to be lots of them.
