This is all too similar of how the Cold War went down. The USSR shoots down a spy plane (a drone in the case of Iran) they accuse the US of spying at nuclear facilities. The US denies the spying. USSR presesnt irrefutable evidence and is enraged. Tention begins to rise between US and USSR. Thus the Arms Race. Fighting begins to errupt between the groups of ethic people within the USSR (in this case the Middle East).

History tends to repeat itself. This is why politicians should pay attention in history class.

This is quite indeed interesting. I too thought the predator was stealth. I mean it is an extremely small craft and stealth design. No way someone picked up on it visually as that is impossible. It was detected via electronics. I would be interested in the details of how it was shot down. Maybe the USA is testing irans air defenses to see how good they respond? Maybe to give them more confidence?

Drone work on a radio signal. Any radio signal can be jammed or scrambled. It is just a matter of time before someone figures out just how to do this to drones. Drone are little more that toy remote control planes. Yes they are alot bigger and some even have fire power and are controlled from hundreds if not thousands of miles away but still radio controlled none the less. People that use drone had better enjoy them while they can because sooner or later you will be able to buy 'drone jammers' on ebay.

The U.S. and Israel has both non-stealth aka Predator and stealth drones like Global Hawk, Dark Star, Raptor and a few others. Either this was mechanical failure or they wanted the Iranians to turn on their radar and check its power, how far out it will reach ect, ect.

Drones can be used for a lot of different things. If it was a stealth drone then it would have never been shot down and if it is about to crash it would blow itself apart.

Who knows if the Iranians are even telling the truth or if they are getting nervous and shooting at every large bird that flies by.

Oh this is wonderful, so now Iran can use this shell to design there own unmanned aircraft.5years tops and they'll have unmanned highly armed aircraft dropping god knows what in the airspace of pretty much wherever they want. Oh they can see us because China sold our radar tech to them. You've all heard about the war games submarine China sent over as a test subject right. Got right in without any notice in what was being considered by our own as an active war zone. In war games the zones are considered active war zones. Now how does China do this. Oh yea, they build everything for us.

MMM, no they are controlled by Satellite. Small battlefield drones yes but Predator and the rest are controlled via Satellite and per-programed mapping like the cruise missiles.

DO you have a source verifying this was a mechanical failure? Otherwise the current source states that it was shot down. Speculation is not allowed here.

At $10 million a pop, this has got to hurt!

This is why there should be a Presidential Payroll Deduction for those times when he loses something during his watch, it will personally cost him not us; it certainly would put a hold on his thought processes! He is, after all, Commander in Chief and should account for it all!
