Court rules TSA should halt body scanners unless they can prove they're needed

The article states the TSA broke federal law by not going thru proper procedures to install the body scanners. Unfortunately the scanners were not judged a breach of fourth amendment rights. I doubt when they "rethink" the usefullness of the scanners they will be pulled out. Seems like a BS judgement to me as even though it was recognized there unlawful, they don't have to remove them.

How bout they prove they're safe for people who fly more than once a month all year...lets start there!

I'm sure they'll figure out some way to "show" that they are needed.

You're probably right.

I can see them offering some idiot $2,000,000 to try to sneak a box cutter between his ass cheeks through security, so they can "catch" him with the body scanner.

My conspiratorial mind is reeling;

What if they suspend the use of body scanners but demand pat downs for all?

Hopefully as far fetched as it sounds.

Its about damn time.

I figured they were going to wait until TSA Agents filed lawsuits claiming they got cancer from the machines.
