The Thoughts this Day of John Bull.

First let me apologise to all members about the way I aproached the situation on the 31st March.Especially to ProudAmerican.At least one other members knows that it was my intention to smoke out the truth or Rattle the cage of the stooge and not to insult anyone.

Presently our nations armed forces are at war and this site has seen an increase in members who,in ATS,have found a place to read and distribute obscure news stories that are unavailable or unreported in the general press and so be better imformed about what your governments are asking you to support.The increase in membership has shown that there is a need for a tolerant place where people can air their views in times of trouble.
Nevertheless tensions have been apparent between the two polarised sides of the war debate.Most members have kept their public comments under control tolerant and respectful of the views of others.
It now appears that while most were trying to debate in a levelheaded way.Moderaters and Admin were setting the scene for a bandwidth gobbling joke.To do this they ratchetted up tensions and encouraged rascist remarks.
We all have our own standards but most would not lower ourselves to insult a person Skin Colour or Religion for the sake of a cheap laugh.

And who is laughing?A few priviledged and their sycophants.

Anyway the joke will soon be over.Time to survey the wreckage.

I agree with John Bull, using this April Fools joke as a way of propogating a right wing agenda on these boards is a sad sad thing to do.

TC, if Illmatic doesn't know what's going on, and you're deliberately being racist towards him, then I'm afraid you have lost every remaining ounce of my respect.

Six months from now, see if this is a joke or a ruse by the administration. Att he same time, see how many attacks this nation has incurred, and make sure and tell me what group or religion continues to be the ones trying to kill our families.

Grow up. Quit trying to be politically correct. Look around and figure what is happening, who is teaching the hate and who is carrying out the acts of violence.

I'm just a little pissed with some of the racist #e that has been placed on this board as part of the "having a good joke" idea. I'm sure it was totally hilarious to all of you mods. But anyone who wasn't in on it could have really taken a few of those things the wrong way.

I'll be one to admit it, they fooled the hell out of me! They had me going, I was really worried. I thought somthing bad was going to happen to ATS.

But I respect a good joke. They really got into it. Try and have some fun from now on. Maybe we can pull one over on the mods next year...

Joe, neither of us were actually fooled by this joke though. Reread our first posts and check the time, compared to the time that the "April fools" banner went up.

All we were saying is that it's a shame that some fairly offensive racist things were being said while people were "in character". If I'd been a new member, who practised the Muslim faith, I might well have just left this site for good when I read some of the comments posted.

xaos - as long as everyone knows he's acting, it'd be fine. But they didn't...

Try going up to a policeman, shout abuse at him, and when he arrests you just say you're acting. In my experience it doesn't work.

There were no racist remarks that I am aware of. If anyone knows where they are at, please direct me to them. I may have missed it.

This poster/member/prankster is American. I was not aware that the age-old April Fool's day prank was cancelled this year because it was deemed not PC.

Talk about mind control and oppression. The same that scream fascism at their counter side will clamp down on anything they don't like.

I'd say that refering to Islam as an Islamic mega-cult which spins lies, feigns honesty and then attacks weakness is probably quite offensive to someone who practices that faith. Would you agree?
