Yep thats about par for the course.

The only thing the rich need to do is get richer, and the poor should help em do it. Thats the thinking behing that "great nation" sucker fools into emigrating there. Well with the foreign policy the way it is tody, you can help 'em get rich from the comfort of you own 3rd world country!

Like the casinos, they pretend its a fair bet to lure the punters in... but THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS!!

It was not that way under Clinton, the shift had been put more on the wealthy and to hear the republicans tell it they are helping the middle class families with their tax breaks, well this is proof they are not, it has been said for a long time that these so called tax breaks are helping the wealthy yet the republicans continue to talk about their tax breaks and cuts for the middle class, well here is proof it is a lie, that the middle class are getting played as suckers by the Bush administration.

If you guys actually read through both of those articles, it clearly states that everyone is actually paying a lower amount.

The title is misleading for the way MOST people will take that statement, percentage wise, the middle class is now paying a larger amount of the overall tax received,

they are still in no way paying nearly as much tax as the rich are in comparison to how much they make (as in taxing people a flat amount, the middle class pay much less)

Why should one person have to work harder to pay 50% of their income in taxes when they could get a job making less and pay 20%?

Anyone paying 50% on income is unAmerican and under the Patriot Act, should be arrested. A commerse tax is Constitutional and gives real value to money. There is nothing regressive about it. What is affordable will be paid and true value will be real. You should not be able to buy sell or trade otherwise and a Living Wage standard coupled with minimum Universal Healthcare paid Nationaly by commerse, must be mandated. Only frogs ribbit out pointless arguments. You aint in no sauna. Just a system failure that is long broken. Frog leg anyone...it just like chicken.

I can't tell exactly if you are trying to be sarcastic or make a point...

If you are trying to say we need a living wage standard and national healthcare- are you serious, it almost sounds sarcastic but nobody can hear your tone of voice here...
I certainly hope you aren't serious (I'm really not all about socialism nor would I be happy with a system like Canada has)

The proportion has shifted towards the middle class, though as blanketgirl points out we are all paying less.

Who is paying more? Your children and grandchildren are being handed an IOU so we individuals and much more so big corporations can live well.

Imagine you are looking into the eyes of the next generations. Try and explain to them why you billed them so you could live well and were also using non-renewable resources like there was no tomorrow, and treated the environment like a garbage dump.

Would you say you were unaware? Would you say it was beyond your control? Would you say you just couldn't be bothered?
