I think people take this question a bit too literally.
It isn't whether an actual chicken or a chicken egg came first,
but if an egg (containing a multi-celled organism), or the multi-celled organism came first.
Me personally believe the egg came first, billions of years ago some single-celled organisms binded together to form an egg, in which cantained a
slighty more advanced multi-celled organism, and that this processed continued until the right mix was found.
To the people who say an egg needs heat from its mother in order to develop. While any heat would work, look at the chicken farms all around the
world, eggs are being kept warm with heat lamps. So thermal vents in the ocean would be more than enough to develop the first batch of advanced cell
organisms.
