I am really getting tired of these knee-jerk reactions turning into laws.
If I am not mistaken all these laws were written because of dead white children.
Caylee's Law Petition
Kyleigh's Law
Amber Alert
Megan's Law
Adam Walsh Act
Jessica's Law
Dru's Law
This is not even all of them. Some are great and others not so great.
No elected official is going to oppose a law written after a dead child.
Do we need a law saying you have to report a dead child?
What if a child dies in the middle of the night?
Is it then up to a prosecutor to decide if you waited to long?
Although some of these laws seems to fill loop holes.
Others seem drafted just to make people feel better.
Caylee's law would not have saved her.
This is bad policy. We don't need more laws based on emotion.
Also, It does strike me every law of this kind. Was written for a white child.
I guess nothing terrible happens to non-whites.
