Its funny but you have people saying fake and others saying its real... yet no ones mentioned the horrendously visible black line down the outside of the snout which given the lighting shouldn't be there... and the fact the chicken carcass is behind its head (no croc would miss that at that distance coming up straight out of the opaque water as they do in those situations). Not to mention the simple fact that doing that trick with a Croc that size, in a boat THAT close to the water level is unbelievably dangerous...

The photo is a complete and utter Photoshop of extremely poor quality.

Even if the Croc is a real celebrity and as large as he is. **sigh** waits for the next troll to come in and say 'nah ah the photos real dude!'.

Salties get big, real big but 5.5 meters is fairly typical from what I understand for that species so nothing that special...

Go back and view some of the other links and videos posted earlier in the thread, they address most of your concerns.

100% real in my opinion.

Photo looks a bit dodgey.

But you have to admire a huge animal as big as 5.5 metres saltie.
The largest that i could find on record was 6.2 metres in Australia, shot and killed on the banks of the Mary River , (northern territory) in 1974.
And one measuring the same in Papua New Guinea shot and killed in 1983.

Why do we shoot and kill everything we see?
Humans are stupid.

Hey Meathed

Here is a picture from Normanton, North Queensland. It is a life size model of the largest crocodile ever captured in the world, an 8.63 metre Saltwater Crocodile that was shot by crocodile hunter Krystina Pawloski in July 1957 in Normanton River.

I've stood beside this thing and it was as tall as me at its shoulder and a person could easily climb inside its mouth. The photo doesn't do it justice as to how huge it actually is.

As for the photo of Brutus, I don't know whether it was photoshopped or not. But Brutus is a well-known attraction in his own right and has been for some time. He loves to jump out of the water to take baits and seems to love the attention too.

Gday heffo

Thanks for picture mate. I knew that there was a bigger crocodile recorded than the 6.2 i mentioned, but i didn't think it was nearly 2 and a half metres bigger at 8.6mtrs, WOW That is massive

I would have loved to see the late Steve Irwin try wrestling and relocating that one

As for the brutus, he must be a magical sight to see in the wild.
I just dont know if i would be brave enough to sit in a little tinny like that in the photo whilst he was being feed.

Peace mate.
Take care

I take it you didn't look at any of the given links such as this one about the crocodile jumping tour. Or this one where members of the public that have also been on the tour (or a similar tour) provided additional pictures...

yet no ones mentioned the horrendously visible black line down the outside of the snout which given the lighting shouldn't be there...

Don't see it. I see perfectly natural colours and lightning.

and the fact the chicken carcass is behind its head (no croc would miss that at that distance coming up straight out of the opaque water as they do in those situations).

Crocodiles aren't guns, i.e. they are not 100% accurate killing machines. We usually only see the successful kills on documentaries - because the 10 failed attempts before that doesn't make for good TV. In addition to that this croc only has 3 legs which would make him even less accurate.
In addition to that - the guy is controlling where the meat goes with the stick. He wants the croc to jump as many times as possible because he wants to give his passengers a show. If he allowed the croc to take the meat with the first jump, then the show would be over before it even started...

Not to mention the simple fact that doing that trick with a Croc that size, in a boat THAT close to the water level is unbelievably dangerous...

No arguing with that. It's a tragedy waiting to happen. This one looks like a pretty close call:

The photo is a complete and utter Photoshop of extremely poor quality.

No it's not. The photo is real. You are welcome to bring more to the table, but perhaps you should look at all the given links first.

Even if the Croc is a real celebrity and as large as he is. **sigh** waits for the next troll to come in and say 'nah ah the photos real dude!'.

Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't make him/her a troll. I'm saying "The photos are real dude." Are you going to call me a troll now?

Agreed.

And this is one of my pictures taken on a similar trip (at a croc farm) as I mentioned earlier:

It's not as good a photo as the picture in question and the croc isn't nearly as big as "Brutus", BUT you'll notice similar "issues" as those mentioned throughout the thread.

the Crocodile is real (as in Brutus), however I would say this photo has been shopped - simple fact that the croc should/would have water running off it. The picture shows that there is no water dripping from the croc.

Same with my picture. I can however assure you that my picture is also real.

It's definitely real. I was watching the news yesterday and they actually went out on this tour and filmed the same croc in the photo. They also showed a shot of his brother, who is an even larger 20ft.
