My dark time poetry!

G'day ATS.
Having one of those days coupled with one of those years. Tough times for myself as of late but I'm in no way seeking sympathy so please refrain from the encouragement replies. To be honest I don't give a damn whether you reply or not I just simply want to give you an insight into my mind tonight, so I wrote this poem.....


Worst first! thirst cursed!
Mind hurts! Soul bursts!
Physical explosion!
Spiritual implosion!
Night works! Death lurks!

Life cries! Love dies!
Faith lies! Self spies!
Sanity deleted!
Reality depleted!
Severed ties! Last goodbyes!

Peace creates! War deflates!
Hands shake! Laws take!
Society destruction!
Suffering influxion!
Make haste! Doomed place!

Family bleeds! Evil breeds!
Sown seeds! None heed!
Dreaming nonexistent!
Insomnia consistent!
Heart suspends! Time ends!



Pretty much a timeline of my life the past two years apart from the morbid last line, so if you can read it how it was meant to be your eyes will open!!

Sh!t dude that's deep! I doubt you'll get many replies but I can appreciate your reasons for posting. Helps to vent I guess.

I like it man, I write poetry myself.

I just have to ask, why is it easier to make dark poetry than light?

I personally am inspired to write poetry in the blackest frame of mind, it spills forth in torrents. Yet, it can take me a month just to write a simple love poem to my wife. It just doesn't seem that happiness inspires anymore.

Just a thought.

Hey bob cheers for your reply. I've wondered the same myself and have been in the same situ many a time. Darkness flows from the mind to the scribe my friend, and most recognized art is inspired by such ill emotion.
Feel free to post a poem or two mate, love to hear some of your work..

"On Keeping the Balance"

Here is our life,
Mistakes to be made.
Resulting in strife,
That in time will fade.

The rainclouds traverse,
For sun to shine.
My dark thoughts disperse,
In light so divine.

The ideas bloom,
Whilst doubts of self wilt.
A small empty room,
Once home to guilt.

But try as we may,
to set forth a plan.
Concise disarray,
Thwarts growth of Man.

The progress we've seen,
Is less than sublime.
The agendas unclean,
from the Keepers of Time.

They say "Join the ranks,
And go fight for peace."
So always give thanks,
To our killers for lease.

Our money is God,
Our freedom for sale.
This linguistic fraud,
Is destined to fail.
