Tahrir Square: 'This time we're here to stay'

Ask about the "new" revolution in Egypt and activists will say the last one never ended, and won't.

Some six months later, July 8 has been called the beginning of a "Million Man" protest, an uprising activists hope will be the largest since the revolution that toppled Hosni Mubarak in early February. The aim is to demonstrate the widespread public outcry to put former government officials on trial and rein in the military council that has governed Egypt since Mubarak's removal.

So, it looks like the Egyptian people are not puppets after all.

While the Western media has already ended their Arab Spring coverage of the Egyptian 'revoluton' months ago, assuming that the Egyptian military government could hold down the reigns in the name of democracy, the Egyptian people still press on for regime change.

I wonder, who is listening now; understanding that sham democracies are nothing more than proxy governments; learning that the only way you can retake control of your country and your lives is to put your ass on the line for it.

I argued many times that if the Egyptian revolution was truly successful, US wouldn't have been so silent and in support of the current transitional government.

I argued that the current transitional government is the remnant of the previous puppet regime. The military council is effectively given billions by US and they have been trained by US also.

I argued that Egyptian would eventual come to realization hit the streets again, and here they are, an evidence that they are not idiots.

The same is true in Tunisia.

If a true revolution takes place, the US would use any means necessary to keep the puppets in power, the same way US has helped Yemen, and UK has helped Bahrain.

This is the reality on the ground, I'm glad Egyptians finally came to realization, I'm glad they didn't succumb to the deception.

i guess that would explain the repeated gas line attacks going on and on and on....Someone is obviously doing something they shouldn't.

The latest Egyptian-Israel gas pipeline blast signals a further erosion of “goodwill” from Cairo, according to Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau. He also warned that electricity prices will soar by 20 percent.

“Economic ties between Egypt and Israel are eroding,” Landau warned on Army Radio Tuesday. An immediate result will be a hike by approximately 20 percent in the cost of electricity as the Israel Electric Corp. is forced to use expensive diesel fuel as a substitute for natural gas from Egypt. It will take at least two years until Israel’s newly-found offshore gas fields will be online.

Diplomatic relations with Egypt also are worsening, he said, after the uprising that resulted in the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and the installation of a provisional military regime. Israel has allowed Egypt to place more troops in the Sinai to protect the gas pipeline from El Arish to the Israeli port of Ashkelon.

Apparently, the new military regime has been accused of repeated human rights violations.

The old puppet has been replaced with a new puppet so its mission accomplished. Who cares if the new regime is as bad or possibly even worse than the last one, he she or it is an ally of the West and thats all that really matters.
