Anyone heard of that before?

The only thing space related I found was this: eSpace
But the logo is different.

It's amazing what goes into our atmosphere yet no one knows what it is...
Think about it.

www.espacesolutions.co.uk...

First on google for "espace solutions."

Very similar logo if not the same. My guess? A private subsidiary. Like id Software's John Carmack. He does aerospace tests. He's just a computer programmer.

It's very common amongst rich computer geeks.

I type in "eSpace Solutions Aerospace" 5th link down.

www.sncorp.com...

These are probably the guys responsible for the sponsorship of the OPs rocket.

The two links are most likely associated. I didn't spend too much time on it... however, it is my hunch. It is weird however.

It is the logo of Arianespace - the space transport company that launches Europe's Ariane 5 rockets.
You can see their logo: cles-facil.fr...

The logo was cut just before the first "e" on these debris.

It's floatsam.

It's yours if you want it.

You might find that the company who launched the rocket will pay you for it back(I doubt it but you can try).

According to maritime law, floatsam is finders-keepers.

The same goes for yachts abandoned at sea. The first one to hitch a line to it claims ownership.

Does it matter if an insurance claim has been made and paid? Wouldn't the yacht then be under the ownership of the insurance company and simply listed "as yet unfound" legally?

Nope. It gets classified as "abandoned at sea" and is written off.

Its one of the reasons that insurance is so expensive for maritime craft.

Oh too cool. I would love to have found something like this! I guess, rightfully I would call them and see if they wanted to com pick it up, but probably not before breaking off a small piece, as a souvenir.

Honestly I am not sure about selling it though, if it is legal I say go ahead. I just remember that here in the US, when the space shuttle blew up a few years back, NASA announced that any pieces of the shuttle you find must be returned... If I recall correctly, they threatened jail to anyone who tried keep or sell any of the shuttle.

But it is two different companies, so who knows.

Quick update - there's been no response to my email, sent to the only electronic address listed in the contact section of the site. Maybe they're working on it, maybe it never reached the relevant department, maybe they'd already heard, maybe it's not that important that they retrieve it... A simple acknowledgment would've been appreciated nonetheless, but what can you do? As there's no 1-800-RETURN-OUR-JUNK toll-free number listed on their site I don't consider it worth my while to call any of the direct numbers, so as far as I'm concerned my part in the matter is over. Again, thanks to everyone for the interest, suggestions and general comments - all were appreciated.
