So I live in Cincinnati and I just drove home from work on 75 south. On 4 different overpasses in a row there were 2 firetrucks parked and facing each other. All the firemen were standing outside just looking down on the highway. It didnt seem like there was anything wrong. Its seems like they were waiting for something to happen on 75. To me it seems like the trucks were facing both directions so they were ready to hop on north or south if they needed to quickly. I really dont know what to think of this, I've never seen anything like it. I listened to the traffic report and they didnt mention anything about it. It makes me nervous...why are they there!? they just seem to be waiting for something to happen on 75. Why would 8 firetrucks just be hanging out on the side of the road watching the highway?

Any ideas?

Are they near an airport? Or any other big facility? There could be an imminent emergency, and they're staging.

Try listening to a police scanner. You can find one for the FD here.

Im sure we'll know soon enough...but thanks for letting all of us know that if something does happen, it is expected by authorities.

Cool link, thanks a lot! Works nationwide and that might come in handy for a lot of folks who don't think they're getting all the info they should from the local news...

Any hazardous waste traveling through Cincy today??

That's the only thing I can think of. I usually see that type of activity with local PD, Sheriff and Troopers when they are prepping for a rolling blockade when the President comes to town.

My guess is that POTUS' caravan is about to drive through and they were staging the fire trucks there to make sure no one would try to throw something off the overpasses. Did you happen to notice any motorcycle cops around? Typically they'll be near as well, they shut down all the on-ramps just ahead of the procession.

How much rainfall has Ohio received in the last couple of weeks?

I ask because here in Texas, Firefighters are carefully watching the major interstates and highways for grass fires caused by careless smokers tossing their cigg. butts out of their vehicles.

Most of our wildfires have been sparked by cigg. butts. We've had no rainfall in the last 4-5 weeks and it's kiling us.

.....just a guess though. probably wrong though.

looking at previous posts, it's more than likely for the president.

The one time I saw fire engines parked on the overpass near my house... they were panhandling for some charity, actually collecting money from passers by in one of their boots. I was thrilled to see my tax dollars at work in that fashion.

It might have something to do with traffic coming into Ky for the first Nascar Sprint Cup race tomorrow at Ky Speedway down here in Sparta by where I live. They are expecting well over a hundred thousand. Just a thought....
