Police chief Kevin Belk corrects earlier reports: He indicates two children are among the 7 dead today. One at 2046 Plainfield Ave. NE, a girl, 10; and, newly reported, a child dead at 1270 Brynell Court NE.

2 more civilians are in the basement of the house.

Just heard there were more shots fired in the county. Place sounds AWFUL.

Throwing in a phone so that he can talk to a negotiator. Trying to inform him they're not making entry. Best wishes to that poor hostage.

Now the gunman is asking for booze!

First Gatorade and cigs, now alchohol.

They should get him an escort and a good movie to get that stuff outta the way and get this situation over with!

If he asks for Steel Reserve I will not be surprised. He should get something decent but I have a feeling malt liquor does the trick best for hostage takers

This is my first time listening to a police scanner in years. Use to love listening on my friends at his house when they were all radio signals. Wed even do stupid little things to hear ourselves being talked about on the scanner.
Too bad there are some serious victims here.

What a terrible event. Never have I seen something like this happen in my home town. Hopefully I never see it again.

I feel so sad for the innocents murdered, innocents shot and family members that can only grieve now.

So sad.

Thankful there was no more casualties or wounded though.
