they aren't stating what the problem is. only that they cannot get the nitrogen pumped into the containment vessel.

if this keeps being delayed and it is delayed now until after a new survey on Friday.

they were injecting nitrogen into reactor #3 to prevent a Hydrogen explosion, so this could be a new climax to this Disaster and with the unacceptably high levels of radiation spreading further and further away from the plant a hydrogen explosion almost seem inevitable.

The operator of the troubled Fukushima Daiichi power plant is having trouble injecting nitrogen gas into one of the reactors to prevent a hydrogen explosion.

But TEPCO failed to confirm the situation because the robot couldn't reach the necessary part of the reactor. Radiation levels as high as about 50 millisieverts per hour were registered in the area.

There is a growing likelihood that the planned nitrogen injection will be delayed. Source

Thanks for the update. On the "search box" on the NHK Newsline website, the term "nuclear watch" will pop up a new screen with video from this new NHK Newsline feature.

I have been watching the NHK Newsline broadcasts in English on an American public television channel since March 11, 2011. On many occasions, the most significant (and therefore controversial) stories never make it to their website news summaries, so it does pay to watch when you can. On that broadcast, occasionally a video clip of an interview conducted in the Japanese language will be aired, so be sure to sit close enough to the screen that you can see the subtitles in English.

this might be the reason why they will wait news.yahoo.com... from the link

No immediate damage or casualties were reported from the quake that struck at 3:35 a.m. Friday (1835 GMT Thursday), the USGS said. No tsunami watch was immediately issued.
that or they just might be waiting for the big boom , no more to worry about we can now bury it.

According to U.S.-based theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, PhD, it's possible that each step of the TEPCO "roadmap" will be delayed. It's not about their being lazy, not about saving money, according to Dr. Kaku the basic problem is that none of these types of remediation steps have ever been done before. Doing anything the first time always takes longer.
