Just like an obituary, a birth announcement is submitted to the newspaper by the family.

The newspaper prints whatever the family submits.

There is no background check, there is no search for independent verification, and quite frankly,
the newspapers don't have the time or resources to verify.

Birth and Death announcements are just a public service that the newspapers provide to their subscribers.

Also, the birth announcement makes no mention of Obama being born in a Hawaiian Hospital.

Why would they put an announcement in the newspaper if the child was not born there?

The only thing I can think of would be say a pregnant lady goes on a holiday somewhere and goes into labor there rather than her home.

It doesn't matter how many times you post it the hardcore birthers are never going to admit they were wrong. You could have video footage of Obama's birth taking place in Hawaii and they would find a handful of supposed "video experts" to debunk it and claim it was filmed on the wrong kind of film for the era or something. This is what happens when people become emotionally invested in an irrational claim. It's the same reason that no matter how many times you prove the shroud of turin a forgery those with faith in the relic will still have faith.

As much as it pains me logic and reason will always have a hard time overcoming irrational beliefs, even silly xenophobic ones like the whole birther thing.

I admit I have not put the PDF in Illustrator myself. However there are hundreds of videos of individuals on YouTube who thoroughly go through the process of opening the PDF, revealing the unmerged layers and the countless anomalies that would not appear in a legitimate document.
All of the videos go through the exact same procedure with the exact same PDF, and different uploaders and thus can be trusted as reliable information
