Name, what you think was a purely evil character in any particular movie.

Example:

Damian Thorn in the original Omen series
Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Alonzo Harris in Training Day
Micheal Myers in Halloween
Freddy Kruger in Nightmare on Elm Street

and so on.....

Joseph whats-his-name as Captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead, comes to mind first. Maybe not truly evil, but definitely mad.

Gotta think of some more.

Usually the Devil / Satan in movies is the ultimate evil guy...

But if I had to pick a "normal" guy... hmm I would vote for The Black Knight in Monthy Python or Black Adder!

Anton Chugur or however you spell his name in No Country for Old men, Charlie Prince in 3:10 to Yuma, and this one maybe a controversy but The Joker from the Dark Night, just a great classic super villain played and written right. I am sure there is more but I can't think of any. Here is Time's list of top 25 villians in movie history: www.time.com...

Alonzo Harris in Training Day

It's great that you mention Training Day, I think that is a vastly underrated movie, really well made.
I'm kind of surprised it never got more attention.

Nice...a blend of Stephen King and H. P. Lovecraft!

Can't remember the name, but the villain in Last Action Hero. He had a great line too, "If God were a villain...he'd be me!"

Same guy, but in The Golden Child, as Sardo Numsbah.

But, one of my favorites is Al Pacino as the Devil in Devil's Advocate...

Jigsaw, in the Saw movies...I mean, wow...the most evil thing he does is make you almost feel as if he's justified in torturing people!

Caspar Guttman, The Maltese Falcon. Sydney Greenstreet was the perfect foil to Bogart. would have maid an awesome Bond villain. "That's good, sir! That's very good! Hm hm!"

Noah Cross, Chinatown. John Huston played him as an outwardly amiable politician without a soul. "The future, Mr. Gittes! The future!"

agree wi Dark Knight's Joker, and Anton Chirghu (sp?) from No Country. Eeeeeee-vil.
