Greetings all!

I've been an on-and-off lurker and finally am trying to contribute. I am from Victoria, Australia!

To all you other Aussies; can anyone give me some locations within Victoria to check out that is supposedly paranormal/UFO-related/strange/interesting?

I cant help with stuff in Victoria to investigate, but if your ever near Newcastle NSW, The Maitland Prison has parnormal tours and over night investigations regularly.
Im yet to go for a tour but it does seem interesting.

I'm from Victoria also.
Heard of plenty of hot spots around VIC, can't think of any off the top of my head right now however.
I live in the Ballarat area and around 6 or so months ago there was a UFO sighting over Ballarat CBD. The local radio station 103.1 Power FM even reported it. My parents were taking out the rubbish and stood in the drive way watching it for 15 - 20 minutes. Unfortunately I wasn't around at the time. It was described as bright multi coloured lights in the sky, making abrupt stops and 90 degree angle turns, etc... Shattered that I missed it.

I went on the Beechworth ghost tours last year, it was utterly hopeless. It wasn't that I was expecting to be spooked, I was actually more interested in the history of the place but they made it really theatrical and it was painful to listen to the tour guide. I know they have one in Ballarat that I've yet to try.

I'm planning a camping trip to the Grampians but would love to know the look-outs and locations that people have supposedly seen UFOs and other strange activities. My work has just bought a Canon 60d camera that shoots amazing video and I am keen on getting some footage to muck around with. Possibly make a doco, who knows.

Another thing; I don't know my way around too much, despite trying to teach myself.
Like for example, (and I feel like a dimwit for asking) I can't even find the basic FAQ on the site. I've managed to find threads that complain about the FAQ but I can't find it!

Also;

What does it mean when threads have a number in flags?

What does

all stand for on the sidebar under my details? I'm assuming P = Posts F = Flags but I can't pick up on the rest.

as for strange stuff around there is a guy dressed as a wizard who hangs around upwey/belgrave and i heard
that the old melb gaol is haunted if you want to see ufos head out bush but i would wait for better weather
