You've gotta love how they just assume its a bomb. Anyone could be dropping a package at a school for any reason. Maybe his homework or a science project?

Massive over reaction and as one other person said this kid's life gets literally ruined because of it. That is unless he can find an employer who doesn't care about the felony charge.

I'm sure they saw that, but they also saw that he's being charged with a felony. Prison or not, that record will severely hinder him in the future. The U.S. is not kind to people who have a felony on their record, violent crime or not

"This Day & Age" What does that mean - Every generation feels thiers is the worst.
So in this day & age - we have paranoid, easily manipulated control freaks who thrive on the daily sensationalist
propaganda released by a heavily agenda driven media & government.
Anyone who chooses to use the phrase "This day & age" would benifit greatly by actually looking at real facts.
Like How many Bombs have been carried into a school - on the last day -when traditionally throughout the country, for at least the last one hundred years or so, there have been Pranksters pulling various levels of gags, pranks, goofs & mischief. Often trying to be clever -rarely trying to damage -very seldom causing the least Harm to anyone.
So how far will these people go with thier Paranoia, Stop every woman who chooses to enter a bank with head covering holding a bundle? What if her little baby was mistaken by some overly diligent, self aggrandizing Do Gooder, as a Bomb -You know in this day & age we can never be Too careful!
I for one (one of very many I'm sure) would rather just let people live & let live.
