it is even remotely possible that this "pig" isn't going to jail? Come on LEO's tell me there is not special consideration paid to those who toe the thin blue line. Barely a slap on the wrist, when you know damn good and well the "citizen" would have been in jail the entire time and probably beaten to death for this crap.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A former Knoxville police officer pleaded guilty Friday to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and providing alcohol to two minors.

Nicky Ray Bryant received three years of probation for the incidents which happened in 2009. However, he is scheduled to be back in court on Aug 31 to fight for judicial diversion instead.

Bryant and another former officer, Donald Scott Clark, were indicted in April 2010.

The indictment said Bryant had more than 100 images of child porn. Investigators with the Knox County Sheriff's Office said they found the images in a search of Bryant's home on Blaine Lane.

Both men resigned from the police department in July 2009 after the accusations against them were revealed in court documents.

Smells like money changing hands here. This should inspire an inquest, even though I am no expert on U.S. law, something does not sound right here.

Perhaps a big kiddie porn ring ran by the cops and this is how they are getting his silence

Interesting how they "resigned" and were not terminated.

"Resigned" looks a lot better on paper when applying for future law enforcement positions.

Was their resignation intentional to prevent their employment record from being tainted with a termination?

I see 'paid leaves' and 'resignations' a lot in alleged LEO criminal cases.
