13c26.. think that's the right # haha, Im still working on fully understanding Rockwell hardness and steel compositions, recently very interested in metallurgy. bought them from my buddy who is a blade freak, but ill ask him where he got them.

The reason I ask is because I learned the hard way when I was was attempting to use a 440 Stainless steel blade as a machete. YES I am aware of how retarded that is.,...Now. I was very ignorant to that kind of thing back then.

Since then i only buy what is referred to as "battle Ready" blades. I had a rather large number of exotic weapons that before I moved overseas. 440 type steels that you see people buy at flea markets will break if you were to hit bone or someones gear in a fight. At least the potential is there.

Just so you know, While i was in the Army Gerber was the top knife people purchased, and every Gerber I have had was a POS that would break chip or crack at the least little work. Advise you steer clear of them.

Dont listen to them the Ruger 556 is a great weapon and any gun person would know that but I have to agree with the rest of the weapons they are pretty crappy. I have a reasonable response load.

PDW- Taurus pt 92 9mm on dropleg(left) and S&W .40(right) in chest holster on Blackhawk tac vest.

Close Quarters- Mossberg 500 cruiser 12gauge. in a sheath attached to alice pack frame of BoB.

Suppression range- custom built AMD-65 7.x39 with underfolding stock and 50 round drum. Sling

Medium range - AR-15 5.56 with Magpul CTR stock and Yanky hill monolith rail on 16" m4 profile with EOTech MPO III EXPS3-4 3 point hang harness.

Stand off range is Converted Mosin Nagant m44 7.62x54r in synthetic monte carlo stock. Cut down to 16" recrowned and re-bedded with LEUPOLD 62230 FX-II 2.5X28 SCOUT (800 meters) and keeps it short and lite.
Harris bipod.

For Zombies: Roman style battle axe. 6 inch steel spike on one side, 8 inch rounded blade on the other side with a 32 inch oak handle.

For General: A Gerber machete 15 inch attached to alice pack frame. Gerber magnum 6 inch folding knife on duty belt. And Gerber multitool on duty belt.

In BoB: Scorpian emergency radio with crank handle and USB outlet and Solar panel. 7 weather bands and it has a bottle opener built in. lol. Home made fire starters, (vaseline and cotton balls) (3)strike sticks, multiple locations. (2) 3 hour road flares. socks, poncho, 12 various fishing hooks 500 feet 8# fishing line, 200 feet of steel cable in a range of 18-14 gauge in little spools. votive candles. waterproof matches. Lensatic compass. Heavy leather gloves. 75 feet of 300# nylon rope. ramen noodles. 8 water purifier tablets.
300 peice first aid trauma kit with scalpel and sutures. Topical antibiotic. Stainless steel mess kit with cup.
Toilet paper. Clothes. My arctic parka over the whole alice pack held down with 2 small bungie cords. It's pretty heavy, but I can pull two straps and it drops right off. I don't know if I could hike with it over really rough terrain, but just walking through fields and woods, I could hoof it for about 8 hours at an easy pace.


Dog cart with (2) mountain bike wheels.(2 dogs) 15 gallons of water in (3) 5 gallon bottles. Dog food, people food, mostly ramen noodles and rice and dried beans. Cast iron dutch oven. Ammunition and the REST of the guns not being carried by family members.(1) 6 person tent. roughly 200 pounds on big wheels.

Every other family member has a regular hiking pack with another first aid kit each, individual stainless steel water bottles, candles, matches, clothes, (2) glow sticks and a simple compass.


Armored personnel carrier.

The traveling homeless..they are used to the outdoors and weather
No qualms about mooching what they need or swipe what they want
Camp out at nite in the middle of nowhere .
They will survive because they are not going to be stuck defending Grannys silverware and the new TV
Add a couple of weapons and you have an example of how things will be !

Did I mention it shoots 750-1000 Yards accuratly?

Almost all of mine are surplus weapons but in great shape and shoot well, and myself and my two children are very good shots with all of them at close and long range;

we have 3 each of;

3 AK47's with under fold stocks and 3, 30 round mags each 7.62x39

3 mosin nagant's one is mounted with a scope the others are iron sights 7.62x54R

this is the new gun, a mossberg 590 12 gauge

3 Tokarev semi auto pistols with 2 magazines each 7.62x25

and one remington 22 rifle 15 shot semi auto wuth a scope


we have stored enough ammunition for these weapons to never need to buy ammo ever again.

we practiced at the range until we were all very proficient shooting, we practiced at home until we were proficient at breaking them down and putting them back together. they are old but good and if we never need them we will have a lot of fun at the range for years to come.

ini just found out today that the firearm of my choice isn't compliant with California gun laws - a Sig P220 stainless elite.

now looking at the P220 combat version.

so while at the shop I figured I'd get some ammo as I'm going to the range this week to see how the 200 feels and a 1911 feels.

I'm laughing at the thread , because all the gun names and stats might as well be in hieroglyphics , reading the thread from the UK...........would love to have access to some sort of protection ie hand gun or rifle , but on the other hand I also can see the problems countries with gun laws may see in the future if the SHTF.

my defense would be, having what i need to make shelter, find food, tend to injuries and disease and most important will be to find like minded people close to my home willing to work together as a community, because if you think holing up in a cave by yourself with 10 guns will save you, you're only fooling yourself.

Well, I don't have a gun but I can use one if I get the chance too.

I rather have something I commonly handle, like a flag pole or something.

I can also use martial arts, so I can use my body as a weapon too.

I would hope that would be everyones primary tool.

i have a pretty cool trick i thought up one night. basically get some large air diffusers (nothing over the top). install them into the attic and it would allow you a moderate vantage point if you were in the attic and them at ground level.
