Morality has been on a downward spiral since the dawn of
Written history. The morality brigade has being fearing the same thing
You fear for generations. Biblical stonings, puritanical char broilings, beheadings,
Quarterings, your complaint is not new, really. People have tried centuries
Worth of moral purification, the culprit is in fact your perception, otherwise
The moral decay of gay would have destroyed humanity 4000 Years ago or more.

But,look, here we are, still talking about the same things. What proposed
Steps to you suggest to restore moral fortitude to the homosexual
Hoards??? All you can account for is your own sexuality,
The futility of your ire makes the oceans look small in comparison.

And what is it with the conservative victim role???

Just letting you know, that is not very dandy or effective,
The status quo is preserved by conservatives, hense the name
And root conserve...

When I come across these folks in the real world who are trying to rubber stamp their compass.

I ask them about Gay folks and listen to the jibber jabber. Then I ask them if God makes millions of mistakes. They reply no of course not. Then I ask them why God makes Hermaphrodites that have male and female organs as well. Then I ask who they are allowed to have sex with. Then I explain that there are about 1 full Hermaphrodite per 1000 people and several that are partial. For every billion people that's a million with male and female sex organs.

They start getting real quiet about now.

And then I ask again. Does God make millions and millions of mistakes?

Thats usually enough to send them home, but every once in a while we go all the way as the next step with homosexuality and hardwired brains.

Sounds like a classic "straw man' tactic to me.

Perhaps this is the best example of a "straw man argument":

A canadian who loves to post about the goings on in U.S. politics.

If it's really so all-fired important and interesting to you then move down here (legally), become a citizen, and then post and vote to your heart's content.

Much more effective than just sniping from across the border.

Meanwhile, let us know if any of us can do anything to help you out with any hot canadian issues.

The very first time I've noticed a member posting their reply in the form of a poetic-style verse.

It seems that you are saying that there is nothing traditional - as in the things that made this country great - worth "conserving"? It ALL needs to be tossed aside?

Perhaps a dream for any who love the color red, but as time will tell, only a pipe dream.

A great analogy would be someone thinking they can remodel a skyscraper by completely removing the first several floors and not realizing that would make the entire building collapse.

And you can be "not gay" and moral, as well.

Isn't that the point? That neither side has anything to do with morality?

And this surprises you? Look who he freely chose to spend his life with.
Of course he's a nutball.

I didn't know this about him Thanks for educating.

That explains a lot. He wants to get gay people in his clinic and 'discipline' them... OK Bud. Whatever you say...

Sorry but in my opinion, sticking your wee wee in someones booty does not sound moral to me.
But that is my belief, yours is obviously different. Good thing we don't live under muslim rule or you would have been stoned to death.

Yeah, that's like straight people posting about gay people.
Or Republicans posting about Obama.
Or atheists posting about religion.

Unheard of, right?

Is there a PROBLEM with Canadians posting about US politics? Or is this just some tactic to shut up someone who disagrees with you?

Well I am female and I don't have a wee wee to stick anywhere,

Well I am not gay, but I avoid casting stones,

Where did I hear that quote,?

Same partisan hacks...................call it deflection, call it a strawman, whatever. Fact is Obama and his wife, along with close family friends ala Wright all said some pretty stupid, messed up and racist things.................and were given a pass by the left, liberals, and the MSM. I know they (the left) don't want a level playing field...they'd lose every election, but the left needs to quit applying apples to oranges and the bitching about the right doing the same thing. I seem to recall Obama declining to state his opinion on gay marriage on live t.v. the other day...is it possible he feels the same way? We'll never know because the left just looked the other way......as usual.

Read the posts.

They're all complaints and sniping about what we say and do here in the U.S. Nothing positive.

Quite tedious is all, eh?

Now, as for the rest of your post: thanks for several more great examples of real straw man arguments.

Muslim clergy say it is not a sin to rape non-islamic women, men, or children unless the victim or perpetrator enjoy it. Last time I checked, pleasure was pretty much a requirement more male sexual functionality.

Thing is, I dont see any libs calling Islam on their licensing of rape against non-Islamic men, women and children...

just sayin'...

I guess Sarah Palin 2.0 (Michelle Bacmann) just failed, the establishment is gonna have to race to find yet another attractive but brainless female to take the place of the Republican candidate to go against Hilary Clinton.

I guess you've missed my posting where I applaud the American people and profess my love for visiting (trumped only by my love for returning home).
You have posted in a thread whose basic issues span borders. What's more, this is an international forum and you are going to get international response.

When I heard Mr. Bachmann speak his statement, it reminded me of when I grew up decades ago, when gays remained in the closet, or a man married a woman but suffered personal demons wrestling with his sexuality in silence, or the wife suffered in silence when her husband announced to her that he would seek the company of men but remain married to her and continue to be the father to their children.

Back then, marriage gave cover to men, as it was naively assumed that gay men couldn't possibly get married. (I think that maybe this is still the reason to define marriage as only between a man and a woman.)

I've seen a couple marriages these days where the straight spouse is seemingly unaware of the partner's homo- or bi- sexuality, either through denial or unawareness. Maybe this is the case for the Bachmanns.
