Oh madness madness madness.. is that santa Klause in your icon?
There's a couple problems.

1. God said through Timothy " Unless the man of sin be revealed and sitteth in the temple of God, the end shall not come "

Which means the new temple, the Vatican, would have to be created first, this was some 300 years later, way past a generation.

This generation was a generation of a long period. You think Christ just set up his new church and is gonna end the World years later? No. He's gonna allow it to flourish throughout the World (btw) which is another prophecy in the OT.

The Church has to spread throughout the World and create countless saints which it has.

There are also other prophecies seeming to pinpoint this age.

Christ said

" And if those days had not been shortened, no flesh would be saved "

This seems to indicate Nuclear and biological weapons going off in succession.

So I don't agree, but I'm glad you admitted you are delusional sometimes too.

peace.

It is much easier to say, look our nuclear power, look at our missiles, look how glorious the human race is...if we didn't prove God with science, then He must be a myth!

Ahhh, yes, now I realize my idiotic ignorance.

I sure hope science can hurry up and find a way for us to live forever, I'm already halfway to 70.

Are you positive? Jesus could have meant we'd annihilate the entire human race with swords and spears in 3 1/2 years.

Nuclear weapons in prophecy is just post hoc rationalization coupled with cognitive dissonance or somethin.

Yea notyourtypical, swords is a bit of a stretch considering tribes will not killeach other. Obviously there are groups left over who will not turn the sword on every last human or their own group.

But biological gases which can spread at a rapid pace seems to indicate God saying No human flesh would be saved.

But who knows?

"And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth." Zecheriah 14:12

The religious are constantly plagued by cognitive dissonance. I was the same way before my de-conversion. The prophecy in Matthew was one that gave me the most trouble. I rationalized for hours on end about how he didn't actually mean the generation of the disciples, but I still always had that discomfort. However, I could always reassure myself by rationalizing about another prophecy and making it fit into the world of today.

Once I began accepting facts, instead of denying the ones that did not fit into my worldview, my mind became a lot clearer. I was more at peace than anytime when I was a christian. Lying to yourself constantly in order to justify your beliefs can wreak havoc on your mental state. We all experience cognitive dissonance at some point, some are just able to recognize it and admit when they are wrong.

And muslims have prophecies from the koran that they rationalize as being fulfilled as well. As do other religions.

Prophecies in Koran

I wonder who is corect?

Me? I think I'll hedge my bets with the FSM

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
