Although this thread is 20 years old, the James Webb Space Telescope successfully launched on Christmas Day 2021 and has made progress in deciphering how the first galaxies formed in the few billion years after the Big Bang.

In any case, 33 years after it was launched, the Hubble Space Telescope is still active, and it continues to take pictures of deep space from low earth orbit, having recently taken a new image of the Messier 55 star cluster:
