Oh, you had no need to worry. I did not even detect a hint of negativity in your post.... I rarely do on here.... We all have our thoughts and I welcome them all.

How else will we ever learn, unless we welcome and consider all thoughts?

Now, if by Dr. Winston O'Boogie, you mean John Winston Lennon ( Born October 9 1940 and died December 8th 1980) then yes, that was the man who said that....

Hmm, can you tell I am a bit of a John Lennon enthusiast by my username and avatar?

You are so right, God is never on your mind when things are going well....It's true, we seem to almost never blame God ( Who ever that is) when things are going well, only when life turns to utter misery.

I wonder why that is.

I am really glad you liked it... The premise of this short story is that a man has just lost his daughter... A single dad. Just him and her.... And this was inspired by something I saw on the news once. A man had just found out that his daughter had been raped and killed and understandably, he collapsed and just broke down.

I put myself into his shoes.... Wondered what I would feel, think, say?

I also mixed in a quite a bit of my own real life.... to make it more personal and... Well, this is the result.

I am so happy you like it.

I start crying just thinking of the possibility of that happening to my daughter. I can't imagine how some parents go on , especially the ones that never know ,only to keep looking. I can't think of anything more heartbreaking for a parent, and my heart goes out to all the parents who have had to deal with such a gruesome tragedy.

Thats not entirely true, many people give thanks to god everyday , and often believe in him more when things are going well. When shtf , and very difficult issues have to be dealt with, it makes some wonder where the love of God is..not that they blame him..but he is god after all..and does have the power to stop very sad atrocities.

Thanks for your kind words. As a writer it always makes me proud, when I can cause the reader to feel, whatever feeling I was trying to convey....

The loss of a child is such a heartbreaking thing... No parent is supposed to ever outlive there child, but this is an awful world we live in and sometimes awful things happen to innocent people.

Just keep that in mind. Tell your kids you love them. Give them hugs. Do your best to instill good values into them and no matter what happens, you will not be sorry.

Fair enough. You make a good point. There are those who do thank god for the good things in their life... For example, to fit with the theme, I know people sure do thank God alot when their child is born or when they meet the love of their life or even when they pass that test they were nervous about.

So you are correct.....

Again, I do not follow any religion. I just go with what feels right in my heart. I do believe in God and an afterlife, but probably not in the sense that any mainstream religion does....

So for what that is worth.
