Hi there! I'm writing up this forum post mostly looking for people who are interested in possibly creating a group for paranormal investigation/research. I know of at least one or two groups already established in the area, but I'm not sure about them. A few things kind of set me off about them. Mostly paying a fee(even if it is $1) to attend meetings and what not. If anything, it'd be nice to find some ATS paranormal enthusiasts to meet up every once in a while and discuss and share things about the paranormal. And even attempt to set up investigations.

Now, I know this could possibly fail before it starts, I'm thinking more positively about it. But, if there is anyone here who is a part of a paranormal group in the SD County area that are looking for new members I would be more than willing to dedicate my time and efforts in helping an already established group that is looking for newer members. The reason I would be interested in that is because most of my investigative techniques are self taught. I've not actually been out with an experienced group. So any learning from people who have done it for years would be invaluable.

Thanks for reading this and I hope to hear from some of you soon! Have a nice day!

Hi E3F,

I would be down to join/help start a paranormal group here in San Diego. I have a pretty good background in occult, paranormal, folklore and mythology, as well as zoology and metaphysics. Not that I'm bragging or anything

Ever played around with the ghost radar app on either android or iphone? Not sure how legit the science behind it is but I've had some interesting experiences using it.: www.spudpickles.com...

Yeah, I've messed with it a little bit, but I haven't gotten anything significant from it. Mostly just blips on the radar that are explainable or words that don't hold a meaning that I was able to find.

If I can actually get a good response for this, I'd love to start putting something together, but it seems you're the only one to respond...kind of sucks.

Being as we are not able to quantify what a ghost actually is, how can a phone application identify and track it if it doesn't know what it is? Most paranormal investigators operate in the realm of pseudoscience. A temperature change or EM spike doesn't prove it a spirit is present. EVP's are terrible evidence, Look at all the cell phone, tv and radio communications bouncing around the earth. They don't hear the evp without the record because radio waves are essentially electromagnetic radiation, not audible, so they are picked up by the recording device and not the ear. Being as sound and light are electromagnetic radiation this can account for EM spikes as well.

I am not even remotely a skeptic when it comes to the existence of ghosts. 100% certain they exist. But the science, hard to call it that, that 99% of investigators use is utter garbage. If you guys do decide to start conducting investigations, do it properly. It's nice to use these instruments for one reason only, if you do catch a ghost and are able to document it then you have the other readings to go along with it. Just don't put much stock in those things alone.

Bumping up this thread I made a while back because my wife and I are pretty serious about trying to start a paranormal group here in San Diego. Well, at this point, we're mostly looking for people to talk with and get to know before we start anything serious. So anyone who is interested please contact me.
