Dirty Politics Is In The Air..Obama Campaign Sends Around Misleading DNC Video on GOP Debate

Well I wondered when this stuff would start.

At last night’s Republican debate, the seven candidates talked about unemployment, taxes, regulations, former Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s talk of a goal of 5% GDP growth, the individual mandate in the health care bill, the Independent Medicare Advisory Board, welfare reform, the Tea Party, currency policy, the National Labor Relations Board, Boeing, TARP, the auto bailout, Rep. Paul Ryan’s Medicare proposal, former Gov. Mitt Romney’s health care program in Massachusetts, raising the debt ceiling, raising the retirement age for Social Security, the role of religion in public life, the 10th amendment, Libya, Afghanistan, and so on.

But President Obama’s 2012 campaign is sending out a DNC video suggesting the candidates spoke only about sharia law, an anti-gay-marriage amendment, repealing health care, Sarah Palin, and the space program.

Seems like the DNC is really going to hit the GOP hard on social issues this year. As an election tactic its brilliant. With the vote to kill medicare in both the House and Senate, the GOP rolling back state abortion laws and other "social engineering through legislation", I'm not surprised.

Not that the Dems aren't the same dirty crooks, but they just might be the smarter crooks this time.

I wasn't aware that the DNC was supposed to advertise for the Republicans.

This isn't "dirty politics." Dirty politics involves lying. You know.
"Obama is not an American"
"Death panels."
"Iraq has a uranium enrichment program"
"Social security is running out"
"The president wants to institute white slavery"
"Democrats raised your taxes"
Lying.

This is the DNC playing a select few gags from what, from all appearances, was an improv comedy show. of course it portrays the Republicans in a negative light - and it does so with their own words, no falsehoods, nothing of the sort.

Frankly, it's about time the GOP gets some of its own medicine, but this seems mild compared to some of the GOP slams on Obama. The Dems have to hit hard if they're going to be assured of a win. People aren't used to Dems using the same tactics as the GOP or having cajones. Having said that, it's politics and pretty dirty, whether it's a lie or a cleverly edited 42 seconds of sound bites from the debate. But looking over the transcript, it could have been much more hard-hitting.

For example:

Reporter: Would you be comfortable appointing a Muslim either in your cabinet or as a Federal Judge?

Cain: No. I will not.



But from the Transcript of the Debate:

CAIN: First, the statement was would I be comfortable with a Muslim in my administration, not that I wouldn't appoint one. That's the exact transcript.

Doesn't he realize that we can go to the tape and see that he's lying?

No, it's not the Dems lying in this particular situation.

Well, why should the Republicans talk about the middle class?

I heard that was just an urban legend or something that went extinct many moons ago.

You Ain't See Nuthin' Yet..... as the old saying goes.

Did you happen to see the one where the elderly lady in a wheelchair was being led to a cliff and then tossed over...? Repubicans cutting Medicade or something.

Both sides do some stuff but the Left/Dems/Socialist/Progressives are always more vival.

But, I think the one major difference this year will be the TV/News/Ad watchers. I think the times have changed and people want some serious fixes ASAP... not political lampooning. Example,,, Palin. The media slit it's wrist on that one... while letting Lover Boy Weiner have a pass-in the beginning.

So, I would advise the Repubs to stay above any frey. The Dems will do well enough on their own on making themselves look bad. Seriously, what are they going to run on?

Re-elect us and we'll give you more of what you got now...!!>>..

I've said it all year, the GOP will not win this election. Nobody likes the GOP.

Not many people like the Dems anymore, especially since Obama has been carrying on with a lot of the Bush policies.

I hope the people wake up enough to consider a third party candidate soon, if they don't, it will come down to which party disgusts them the least.


Expect to see a lot of voters holding their noses while going to the voting booth next year.

Actually, I watched the debate and there was very little substance on what any of them would or could actually do. Except one candidate (Ron Paul) seemed to be the only one that had a plan for moving forward, controlling debt, returning money to the people, stimulating business, and restoring a constitutional republic.

In a non-politically correct world (where we SHOULD reside) Cain is correct in saying he feels weary about hiring a muslim, they have compromised loyalty. I guarantee you that the president in 1943 would have said the same thing about Japs and Germans.

Honestly, with the political correctness that bogs down this country this day and age, we couldn't win WW2 today.

It's still early but the signs so far show your right. Even with Obama basically handing the republicans the election the GOP is putting up no one that can take advantage of that. This is one of the weakest GOP fields i've seen well since last election.

I think the only chance the republicans have is for someone who Obama has problems with. Palin or Trump look like the best candidates here. Obama will crush any in the current field not only in debates but also just in general campainging.

The dims have their work cut out for them with the clown-in-chief presiding over a wrecked economy and no end in sight...certainly not in time for Nov 2012....yep...dims are dead meat
