WOW, such negativity. You'd think that he was the one who killed the economy.
Seems to me that BUSH did that.
Anyone thank him for doing it?

OK, now for getting back to being ON TOPIC...

I'd like to thank Obama for giving me the choice of whether or not my Bank has the right to LOAN ME $0.01 and charge me $35 for doing it. Obama changed to rules on Banks giving THE PEOPLE the choice of opting out of overdraft protection.

Until now, Banks were like spiders just waiting patiently until someone made a little error and BAM they stick you with that BIG FAT FEE.

If I don't have enough money in the bank I'd rather have to put something back than pay that damn fee.

Thank You Mr. Obama for giving me the choice.

I would like to thank him for all the ironic humor that has made me chuckle from time to time and for showing that Liberalism and Socialism once again…does…not …work.

And I would like to thank for the fact that much of the pampered American populace is awakening.

What?, were you actually expecting something reinforcing his positive image?

Thank you Obummer for showing the U.S. how to apologize to every nation, keep our troops in wars, start another war or kinetic action?, keep GITMO open, do nothing to help the Citizen's with a false stimulus package(banks win),attack our own states(Arizona), for the FEDS failure to secure our borders, keep unemployment above 9%, allow the TSA to violate our rights.
I'm sure I missed a few, I think it is a good list for starters.

Oh, I know one thing I would thank him for....

This speech he made at the 2011 white house correspondents dinner.... Come on... It's funny... Democrat OR Republican.

Thank you for making me realize it was time to prepare in 2008 and thank you for convincing me unequivocally it was time to go "Galt" this year. Your economic policies were so convincing I felt I had almost no choice......what a guy.......................and and and with no executive branch budget presented for almost 800 days what the hell was I to worry about with my little budget and self anyway............................the notion that I'd continue to feed the machine was nauseating after watching you in action.

I never would have quit supporting the system without your arm twisting and very very very convincing actions across the board.

Gosh following your example I'm actually expecting to make a profit come tax time next year - who would have thunk-it!

Without you.....................................................................I'd have nothing!

"O" one question if you may sir? What is to be done when 20,000,000 plus like me dive-out of the system and the moocher class have no more victims to leach upon? Any contemplation?

???????????

Thank you sir!

I have so much to thank him for I don't know where to start, but I will try.

First of all thank you for repaying all my hard work for you by doing opposite of everything you promised.
Thank you for ending the wars and peace in the Middle East.
Thank you for closing Gitmo, restoring the Constitution, and repealing Executive orders.
Thank you for all the new laws and ever expanding police state.
Thank you for closing down all my internet poker sites.
Thank you for a new health care system that gives everything to the big HMO's and forces me to pay for it.
Thank you for low gas prices.
Thank you for all the jobs you created and looking out for the little guy.
Thank you for making sure Democrats are out of power for a long time.
Thank you for all the change and the continuation of Bush's policies.
Thank you for staging Bin Ladin's death.
Thank you for taking the blue pill.

And finally, Thank you for restoring my faith in the American System and its politicians.

First the positives: I'd like to thank Obama for several things. One the ability for me to attend college, and Two the fact that nobody can be denied health coverage due to having an illness (or tobacco smoking I beleive too), thanks Obama for giving me an incentive to get off my lazy butt and find work(sarcasm), anywhere at this point even if it's a field picking job or making mcflurry's because otherwise I'd have to sit all day bored out of my mind with nothing to do, but because of you my day is filled with schoolwork (hey this one I am NOT complaining about, just to clarify),Warning the following though, is sarcasm: sending out internet applications, social networking with managers in my field of study, and planting my own Garden, which I would do most of the time for fun but now I am doing so out of necessity. So thanks for that, My Man.

Isn't Gitmo still open?

And he ended combat missions in Iraq but not Afghanistan. Plus we still have troops in both.

Just for what that is worth.

This thread amounts to plain political trolling. Everybody used this thread to take stabs at Obama. The majority of posts are not on topic as what I expected. To say they can't find one thing they approve of is quite ridiculous.

You may not like the guys policies, which I don't care for either, but give credit where credit is due. That's what's wrong with the 2 party system. They can't work with each other nor can they give each other credit where it's deserved. That's why nothing can be accomplished because neither party trusts each other.

The title pretty much sums up what it is that I would like for each of you to contribute to this thread. If you are not able to hold your tongue and wish to go off on a rant, please take it elsewhere, otherwise, please honor the rules of decorum and just post your answer.

I do not wish for this to become a thread of debates, just simple answers will do. I am quite curious as to the answers to this question, "What has Obama done that you, as an individual, would thank him for?"

I haven't taken a single stab at the man.... So, leave me out of it, will you?

I have given sincere and honest answers.

There is a two party system, you are right, but they are just one. Obama is one.

There is nothing to thank him for. He is a tool...a high paid salesman. Nothing more. You should be congratulating everyone on this thread for seeing that, not spouting nonsense.

I gave him 110% positive credit for all of my actions since he's been in office what gives you don't like compliments

If you ask silly innocuous open ended questions you are bound to get amusing but truthful answers - did you think you'd get rah rah for "O" answers? This guy has done more damage than anyone in history to this country including civil war, both world wars and all social disruption in the past century and you expect benign blather thanking the one? are you an alien from another planet learning our system? can we teach you or are you here to invade?

I can point you to our leader but its questionable who's actually leading - get my drift?

I hate to be the one to break it to you but the name does not sit well with the majority of the American people. Possibly indicated by the replies to your thread...in my opinion.

The majority of posts are not on topic as what I expected.

I can only offer that maybe you should lower your expectations if you are going to ask what the people wish to thank him for...because I don't find one single post that is surprising in the least, and to say that it is ridiculous is to say that the opinions are not valued as authentic...trust me...mine is!

So you don't think a change in the banking credit card fee policies was something nobody here is benefiting from?

If you have kids graduating from college and they're having a hard time finding work, they're not benefiting from staying on their parents policy until they get on their feet? Would you prefer they go without any kind of health insurance?

I would like to thank the President for at least attempting to do the right thing despite the unprecedented obstructionist tactics adopted by the republican party to oppose his every move. But by far, the most important thing I would like to thank him for is allowing the republican party agenda to become "Transparent" for all to see.

Thanks to that transparency, I am now fully aware of just how extreme the republican agenda truly is and what lengths they will go to in order to accomplish it. It is now clear for all to see that the republican party has no plans to honor any promises other than those made to corporations and the wealthy elite, screwing everyone else in the process.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I also want to thank him for repealing DADT and catching Osama Bin Laden but it wouldn't be fair unless I also thanked him for the other 243 accomplishments listed here:

Thanks Mr. President.

Oh, I'm well aware of the feeling of Obama here on ATS. But to say that you can't find (1) single policy that helped benefit the working class is not being impartial.
