10 Deadly Solar Powered Weapons

I came across this bit of solar powered weapon humor.
and was stunned to see how far we have progressed with a simple idea such as Archimedes heat ray.





if only we could put our great minds together for the progress of our fellow man instead of killing our brothers and sisters in clever ways.

There have been many references to the Nazis having advanced weapons and technology in at least the research, if not the development phase. Of course the example here is utterly ridiculous and even to day would be so impossible and prohibitively expensive, that no organisation or nation could afford to build it, either in terms of possessing enough material, or indeed having the money to get the project working. A three mile wide space weapon is of course pie in the sky BS , wether or not the theory and science behind it is sound. Any space based weapon would clearly have to be much smaller than either the Nazi idea, or indeed the idea suggested by the US during the cold war for a space station "the size of Manhattan Island".

However, it is always a good idea to remember that the overwhelming majority of the scientific breakthroughs which allowed humanity to reach for the stars, actualy came about because a bunch of depraved xenophobes wanted to kill people with pilotless bombs. It is the responsibility of every free man and woman, every decent loving person on the earth, to ensure that the discoveries of the future, come about without the need for hate and violence.
