Article about this here:

Search engine Google celebrates what would have been guitar maker Les Paul’s 96th birthday if not for his death due to pneumonia on August 13, 2009.

Les Paul, who created the Gibson guitar, is credited for his role in the invention of rock n’ roll. The Les Paul Golftop guitar model was released in 1952 through the Gibson company while the popular Les Paul Standard model was released in 1954.

Google.com marks Les Paul’s birthday through the launch of an interactive logo which resembles his electric guitar model.

Yep! I think it pretty cool. Nothing like playing some quick tunes while you're searching for ATS material.

Yes. It is really neat. Too bad we can't do chords. Single strings are better than nothing though.

I agree with both of you.
Wish they would keep it that way for a while, but guessing it will be gone by
tommorrow....

I got lucky, and got a discount for a custom Les Paul a few months ago back in January. Best guitar i've ever had. Love it. Here's my two recordings: google guitar and google guitar

Silly, but it's fun. Although I like playing the actual guitar better
