You dont seem to realise that many people around the world do use 'Jap' to discribe Japanese people because it is short for Japanese. I have even heard Japanese people refer to each other using this term
ditto on the 'making a fool of yourself'.
if you want to abbreviate, use 'jpn', the term jap is an offensive word.
i've even heard that black people call each othe ni**ers, does that mean its ok to use that word?

How is "jap" offensive?
I don't get it. Ever since i was a kid it was a Jap submarine or jap helmet?
just short form as far as I know.

OK, I get it.

Please go ahead and denigrate Japanese on the Japanese thread, I get it now.

I just wanted to work out what was and was not tolerated on this site.

Many thanks to those decent people here who try hard to get to the truth of things without racially abusing others.

Hi, can you actually tell me why this word is considered offensive?
that is what I am asking.

Ok, i looked up your word racial perjorative and saw what it listed as slang nationality terms.
now I guess seeing as I grew up in the 60's believe it or not most of the words on the
list was common use, eg "jerry can"
so I guess you don't have to help me understand now
