That's brilliant! Should be Barry's campaign slogan " Managing the Decline of America". This message brought to you by Reid, Pelosi and company.

If you listen to Rush Limbaugh, he says that none of this is happening by accident.
They know exactly what they are doing.
-----------------------------------
It's clear to me that Obama and his minions have their eye on a 1929 Crash 2.0.
A new crash would create an environment where they could - possibly - restart America
with a George Soros pipe dream.
Bill O'Reilly saw the light a few weeks ago.
He said he was late getting there but he is there now. They want the crash.

It looks like Larry the Liquidator was right. The communists ARE waiting in the bushes!

Thread Title: Obama Economic Shakeup Amid Bad News

So unfavorable and disappointing economic news comes out and the administration makes key appointment changes in an effort to offer solutions and rectify the problem. SHOCKING. It would have been much better if they would have done nothing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. /sarcasm

I hope the reshuffle yields a positive and desired outcome to turn our economy around.

The media is so in the bag for this guy that we will never hear the true statistics related to our current economic condition. They are still blaming Bush three years later. Can any of you name ONE person appointed by Barry who has business experience? I'll save you the trouble, there isn't one. The whole bunch are academics who have never had to earn a living by their labor. Elitist snobs who have zero business acumen telling businessmen how to run their business, while the media continue to treat them with kid gloves. It's sickening.

Except if you've ever spent any time in an economics course you'd realize that the reason our economy is as it is, is because the same exact monetary policies have been perpetuated administration after administration since 1913. So it is Bush's fault as much as it is Obama's fault as much as it is Carter's fault and so on.
What we think of as a recession isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Our economy is an avalanche waiting to happen.

it was bushes fault

It's too late for that one.
This is the Obama economy.
-----------------------
Obama and Pelosi need to stop pointing fingers and blaming others.
They need to start articulating solutions to this very serious economic crisis!
Leaders take responsibility. Losers blame others.

That is on the premise that they are leaders, which we all know they are not.

Well you CAN directly thank "Obamacare"for helping to screw the economy(and people out of new jobs) by making large employers reluctant to commit to hiring because they had no idea what their new hire costs were going to be:" "Umm We cant tell you whats in the bill until we um pass the bill... titter tee-hee."

At least you show it for what it truly is.

Well, if our economy is so terrible then why was there an economic boom in the 1990s?
-------------------------------------------------
Could it be that - something new - arrived?
It was called the - World Wide Web -.
Corporations appeared out of nowhere. Google - Yahoo - eBay - Amazon.com -
e-commerce departments in the Fortune 500 companies.
Apple.com arrived and Apple started selling computers online.
Jobs - Jobs - Jobs!!!

--------------------------------------------
We can create ANOTHER economic boom. All we need is - something new -.
If we put everyone back to work and lowered the unemployment rate to 4%,
then we could grow our way out of this mess.
An avalanche of payroll taxes would roll towards Washington D.C.
The deficit would go down.
With people back at work then they could afford to buy a new home.
New homes being built = More jobs

The next "big thing" won't come out of the the US. Those days are over. It will come out of Brazil, India or China or some other country that does not have a political class that pounds the table shouting that successful business folks are the bane of society. It will come out of a country that has low business taxes and does not make firms beg to get permits or shuts their businesses down because some toad is endangered. It will come out of a country that does not place confiscatory taxes on small business owners.

The trend has started long ago. 15 years ago the London Stock Exchange was a minor player compared to the NYSE. Where do most companys list today? The LSE. Why? Because its cheaper, and the regulatory burden the US government places on public firms with things like Sarbanes/Oxley are a huge cost to business. If you had a great idea and wanted to start a company, particularily one that was a knowledge based, intellectual property based business, you would not start it in the US. The society does not educate its citizens, EEOC mandates are jammed down your throat, taxes are high, legal costs due to frivilous law suits are high. You would take your company somewhere else. It does not matter where the folks live today. Encorporating and getting Patent rights in Argentina or Panama is a much better business decision. Half of your engineers are going to be Chinese or Indian in any event, so why would you encorporate in the US?

The only place real innovation happens today in the US is in the drug industry and that industry is essentially the federal government anyway due to the subsidies and the juice that flows between the two. The drug space and the engineering of flawed and bogus investment vehicles. I hope you're not thinking that the iPad is innovation. Pretty soon folks will tire of playing Angry Ducks and in any event, with the increasing oversight of DHS in the forms of wiretaps, on-line behavior monitoring, etc, there is a growing segment of the population who will increasingly turn away from that rubbish, which is nothing more than a DS game for adults and false convenience that generates no real value to anyone.

The collective governments of the US, Federal, State and Local have all but killed the innovation culture in the US and it ain't coming back. We're good at making movies, I guess thats something.

Well gee, the last big thing came from the USA.
--------------------------------
I'm 100% sure the next big thing will come from the USA.
How does a - completely new power generation - apparatus sound to you?
A new power source that will allow the entire world to shutdown coal fired power plants
and replace them with an alternate power plant with much higher profit margins.

That would be fantastic. I'll believe it when I see it actually in production. Those windmills are doing a great job for us, especially the ones in California that they just shut down because some kind of eagle was getting torn to bits in them. We're doing a great job with hydro power here as well. Most of the new hydro power technology developed in the US is being used overseas because it can't be implemented here due to its interference with fisherys. In any event, any new "green" technology will soon be in the hands of GE (as most of it already is) and that is not the kind of innovation we're talking about, or at least I'm not. A bunch of "spade ready" green jobs that are economic losers, but put folks to work, filling the pocket of the military industrial complex is not innovation, its government/corporate corruption.

As it relates to any new technology that will spawn out of the US it will only be in those that are massively subsidized by the Federal Government. The whole notion of 6 gents in a garage coming up with the next big idea is dead. If you were the next Bill Gates, you and your buddy, Paul Allen would move outside of the US to incorporate - at least just about every lawyer or VC firm would tell you to so.

I was thinking more like Texas.
Capitalism thrives in Texas.
Maybe just the HQ could be there just on paper.
----------------------------
I'm also thinking a VERY reasonable licensing agreement with countries like China.
The idea is to create an environment where China wouldn't even bother with illegal clones.
---------------------------
I guess China could shutdown all of those coal fired power plants and turn them into
bookstores and museums.

Can't you hear the planet Earth saying - Thank you! -
--------------------------
After we clean the air, we could start cleaning the oceans. There are too many
dead zones out there from pesticides and fertilizer run-off.
- For every problem there is a solution. -
