That's equivalent to asking if you can drive your car through the "cold front" line on this map:

Of course you can, but when you cross the line you may find that the temperature is a lot different and the wind is blowing in a different direction and much stronger or weaker.

Same with Voyager except in that case the wind is the solar wind and the temperature is the interstellar gas versus the heliosphere temperature.

I didn't realize the Voyager 1 couldn't measure solar wind like Voyager 2 can, we will have much better data now! I'm impressed that Voyager 2 is still working!

Makes me think of the movie Men in Black. At the end, they show our universe as being a bubble/ball inside of another bubble/ball.

Voyager is encountering the suns electric effects like never before.

Lke they said, they'll have to revise the models.


While passing through the heliosheath, Voyager 1 experienced many sudden and drastic changes in the surrounding magnetic field driven by structures called current sheets.


By gosh they found electric currents.


– there are three distinct types of current sheets.

“The structures, appearing as proton boundary layers (PBLs), magnetic holes or humps, or sector boundaries, were identified by characteristic ffluctuations in either magnetic field strength or direction as the spacecraft crossed nearly 500 million km (310 million mi) of heliosheath in 2009. PBLs are defined by a rapid jump in magnetic field strength, with one observed event resulting in a doubling of the field strength in just half an hour.” said the team. “Passing through a sector boundary led to a sudden change in direction of the magnetic field. Magnetic holes saw the field strength drop to near zero before returning to the original background strength. Magnetic humps consisted of a sudden spike in strength and then a return to initial levels.”

It's nothing like kinetic shock, and nothing like the wind analogy implies. that's why they need to revise the models. it's behaving as electricfied plasma does separating into boundaries.

What if these bubbles are the end of our known universe? Think of it in terms of the movie "The Truman Show", where Truman gets through all of the storms and finally runs into the wall. I wonder who it is that has been watching us on their TV sets 24/7? Maybe our solar system is nothing more than some popular reality show on "their" version of MTV. Maybe all of us are the cast of Jersey Shore. (I guess I better start working on my abs)

I had a dream about Universes being inside bubbles in 1985 floating around in the blackness of space. Only when I woke up from the dream, I called them shields, like the atmosphere we have around Earth.
I wrote it down because I couldn't believe I had dreamed something like that.! Ever since the dream, I have thought there was more than one Universe.
But..after all, it was just a dream.

If the bubbles compress as we seem to see in the images you provided, it means there are entry points in the system that will be easier to get through, like the window concept for re-entry, is that right?

well there is an optical effect of round shaped objects
my interpretaion is this is a "layer" between two boundries
that is many millions of 100 million wide "mini lenses"
and one theory would be that this "layer" is not only reflecting rays but also up to a point abosorbing them
it has profound implications

the optical effect of a curved medium density "bubbles"
could act as a complex "compound" lense"

it would be very interesting to know what other boundries there is
and what the affect is on light coming to our telescopes through these layers?

The Voyagers have no power. They’re just coasting. But these are not physical bubbles, they're magnetic disturbances in space. They will not hinder the spacecraft at all.
