Enormous CME released by the Sun.

The sun released (IMO) an enormous CME not too long ago.





I've never seen anything like the first picture.

Not sure, and really don't know how to determain if it was directed at Earth, but here are 2 sites i've been checking for additional info.

Ah, another thread on this.

But I'd like to keep the discussion on this thread about the effect this may have on earth if it is infact directed towards us.

The pictures are marvelous, but i'm more concerned of this cme influencing more earthquakes.

I don't think this exact CME Blast is, but recent sun activity possibly could be.

If this is directed towards earth, you'll see in the next few hours, or maybe a day the effect it will have.

Also could solar particles be floating all over earth? I noticed the moon was unusually dark red, darker than usual.

This shows an M class solar flare on the 7th. Is this from that CME?

Yes it is.
We are not likely to see any effects from this CME.

Correction

A dramatic eruption from an otherwise unimpressive NOAA Region 1226 earlier today is expected to cause G1 (minor) to G2 (moderate) levels of Geomagnetic Storm activity tomorrow, June 8, beginning around 1800 UTC with the passage of a fast CME.
