I know what your saying that health issues are still here. Yes but remember human mind not fully running by all some running more then others some running really low and cannot even consider these methods. I personally know people very sick for years and their positive attitude dig this the doctors tell them its their positive attitude keeping them alive and im not bs n you. K now positive energy running proper thru human or other lol will in turn cause positive influences in their social physical and mental healths and reverse if you are negative. Am I in no way spreading false hope for all the ill discomforted and financially strained no. But what i am saying is if you can get your brains running higher higher things will happen. Be well

I agree with what you are saying totally. I take from the law of attraction stuff, what I can do internally in my own mind, my personal environment, my perceptual framework, etc. I have no delusion that I can manifest something by thinking it up. Really it's an interesting philosophy if they didn't try to sneak in that little part about how you can create things with your thoughts.

And there is a hint to truth about being positive for health reasons, at least because of stress. Stress is at times self-caused and stress does have bad effects on your health. So it's better for your health to relax. I know you know that, but that's what I think about when I think of good things that can come from this.

I think there are some good things coming out of this. I don't get the sense that it's all about money and success, to me she seems to be genuinely more worried about people being happy. That is so true though about how she got her money from selling this idea and books etc. Also true in that many preachers have a wonderful house and car because they are getting money from their congregation, not because "God loves them." Oh yeah, it can get very nasty and egoic, like I hinted at on my big post. But I think there are some goods things coming out of this stuff, an improvement if you will.

There is the story of this planet or world that is full of stories for the purpose of kipping all human in chain.
There is the story of enlighten, the story of channeling, the story of a subconscious mind that is your soul, then there the story of bad and good, the story of reality and illusion, there is the story of master that have seen the story...sorry ...the light. There is the story of atheism, the story of democracy, anarchy, communism, socialism. And more story like religions, cult, secret occult, celebrity, and on, and on.
Every thing is a story, my self I am a story....the story that start from no where and go with out warning...your birth and death.
Should I go on? There is only one fact, only one....the present moment...you can speculate as you wish, search as you want, enlighten your self as you can...you will never found a bigger truth then that the present exist for eternity....every thing eles is just another story.

There are also some really bad things coming out of this.

Because IF you believe that a persons success or health or happiness is the result of their own effort, their thinking, etc., then you also MUST believe that the lack of a persons success, health or happiness is because of their thinking.

You see where I am going? While I do believe that stress can lower the immune system, and it can lead to all sorts of things, and that your thinking can to some degree, affect your stress level, so do factors totally out of your control.

While many people do just take the positive thinking part, and improve their lives with it, I also see "New Agers" totally ignoring world issues that they find "negative" or painful to think about because they are frantically trying to focus on the positive. And what happens when you ignore the negative? Its tends to grow, like a weed you overlooked.

I REALLY hate the blame the victim side of this way of thinking. "Oh if so and so dies of cancer, its because of their negative thinking." No one knows that. I KNOW someone dying of cancer who so believed in this crap they totally put off all treatment until it was far too late, too. No one can tell me that person didnt believe this rubbish. They believed it so much, so deeply, and so truly they ignored everyone arguing for them to seek real help. I hate that part of this crap too.

Bottom line, this is a money making scheme that has been floating around the world for several hundreds of years. It becomes popular in certain circles, makes its rounds, and then after enough people get burned or wise up, it loses popularity and disappears for another 50-75 years before rising again like a Phoenix from the ashes to make some new con artists rich.

The fact that some legitimate spiritual messages have gotten mixed into this junk over the centuries doesnt, to me, make it any better. It actually makes it worse, as the legitimate spirituality adds to the illusion of truth, and sucks people in more tightly.

There are some ancient philosophical traditions that deal with this matter to some degree. But none of them make the outrageous magical claims the scam versions of this teaching do.

And of course Esther Hicks is genuinely worried about people being happy. She sure as hell cant make them rich, or healthy, or loved. All she can HOPE to do is make them a little happier, and she needs that to keep the story going. However, as wonderful as it is that her teaching makes people happy, you should not be able to use a con to sell happiness. I can make people happy too, if I come up with an elaborate scheme to convince them they have won the lottery and all they need to do is give me a fee and they will get their money. Bernie Madoffs investors were some happy campers too, for quite a while. Lots of cons make people happy. Until they realize its all been a con.

Beliefis just a word, my friend.

Few actually know what it means or what it feels like when used to it's maximum capacity.

The mind is a powerful thing. If in your mind you think that you can't fail then you probably won't.
However if you think you can't do anything then you are doomed to fail.

Being content is one thing, trying to ''manifest a perfect life experience'' is quite another.

This whole deliberate creation thing, I feel, may encourage selfishness and arrogance.

To be without desire is the only thing worth desiring.

Its a program, an imprinted set of "knowledge" that the authorities decide upon. True learning occurs through the imagination, where you learn a skill or ability, knowledge only serves to create a sense of comfort about things that we cannot control, or perceive that we cannot control, as you put it.

Awesome thread indeed! If it is true that we are all connected in a universal consciousness it would make a hell of a lot of sense why the world is the way it is. People in constant fear of something and anxiety are not promoting well being for themselves let alone all of us as a collective consciousness. It would also explain the center around money, power, and fame. Keeping people distracted with beliefs based upon nothing. Creating that desire of "want" to products that have no true value is not real happiness.

I've been through a lot this past year and I've really learned to not become so caught up in material possessions and money. Although money is an unfortunate evil in our society, it was created at some point in time. What happened to just bartering for necessities of life? People seem to accept things for face value instead of asking why it is this way and why it can't be a different way? Go away from society for 1 day.. 30 days .. 6 months. See how quick you change your outlook on things. Things you gave importance to will no longer matter. Think about going to jail for 30 days or a rehab and how you would function without a cell phone or the internet.

The problem is people are too caught up in their "comfort zone" and have become complacent with how things are. As long as they can go to their little job and drink their coffee and read their paper, make their money and go on with their life, then they could care less. BUT it's all okay. As the system collapses slowly but surely it will be a harsh reality. I'm not trying to promote fear because I can't life with fear anymore. When you have nothing to fear it makes it easier to just live and enjoy life. The sooner everyone learns to be happy with their life and accept who they are, the easier it will make it be for the world to be happy. Take notice in your neighbor and stop being so self centered. Although I have serious issues with trusting anyone, I see beautiful in all people.

I've felt from a young age that this knowledge has some kind of truth to it. Like Gregg says, it has a lot to do with the number of people involved.

Off-topic: If world peace and healing requires tens of thousands of people to focus on it- it makes sense why certain power structures would want us all divided and fearing our neighbours.

People may react differently to various doses. So one person may get cancer at x dose, and some other person may NOT get cancer at x dose, but there is no evidence whatsoever that what that person believes, or how they think has anything at all to do with whether or not they get cancer at x dose of radiation. Even if you ask them later and they say, "oh yes, it was my positive thinking that saved me" they have no way of knowing if indeed that is the case. People psychologically WANT to feel they are in control, and so they often attribute their own _______ (intelligence, cleverness, skill, positive thinking, etc) in cases where in fact, something absolutely out of their control was operating. (Genetics, luck, different treatment, factors that co-existed with the radiation and so led to a different outcome, etc)

Wrong, belief does make a difference. Placebo effect.

The fact is, many of these "think your way to abundance and health" people do not think their way to abundance. Very few of them get rich using their methods and THEN teach everyone else how to do it. Most of them get rich BECAUSE they promise others they can have abundance by following their methods, but oddly enough, they do not teach the actual method THEY used, that being, to get abundance by promising others a method to get abundance.

The message is that you are responsible for everything that you bring into your life not just abundance of money. Just because the source of their money abundance manifests for them in this way is not relevent to the message. The specifics of how abundance comes to an individual is not helpful to others in general.

So, since they are expert, lets have them show others how it is done. Let us infect them with the most virulent and painful disease on the planet, and they can show us how holding the right "vibration" can fight off the infection.

So they can't just live a happy and abundant life and lead by example? They have to be put into a room and infected with the most virulent and painful (we wouldn't want to give them just any incurable disease, it must be the most painful) disease and only then could they prove themselves.... really?

I dont think Ester is a con artist and the message is a positive one of self empowerment, If nothing else you have to admire her ability to deliver. She stands in front of the audience and they can ask her any question they like to put her on the spot and she will respond with an in-depth answer which she communicates with ease and clarity, often to the delight and applause of the audience.
