The tea party was a nice idea and I had hoped that they coud bring a diiference in America.

Politicians ideas change for the worse once money and sponsors enter into equation, that's a fact.

Tea Party Express? The people that plastered Palin face on a bus and claimed to be the only Patriotic Americans?

!@$!% them!

They were founded by lawyers with tons of money who were former managers of the GOP .. it was quite literally founded BY the GOP .. it was not hijacked, because they cannot hijack themselves. Then they got a thoughtless nitwit to be their face to the public and that's all the news cared about.

Needless to say, the true Tea Party died without so much as a whimper, Evangelicals now claim to be Tea Party even though they are nothing more than your typical Republican Fascist.

People don't discern between the various Tea Parties, there are hundreds of them.. they only listen to the one with the most money .. the Tea Party Express, founded by Republicans.

That's like the Short Bus being hijacked by the Nutter Brigade. All you can do is watch and laugh...or in the case of Palin, cringe.

great another hate the teaparty and gop thread.

for those people who can think for themselves

how has all that hope and change worked out for you all so far?

for crying out loud why can people just take what they like from the parties and leave the stupidity behind?

blind followers either right or left is why there is no hope for this country.

to save this country is to save ourselves and for the love of aqua buddah rise above the stupidity

and become the eagle that soars from above and on ocassion drop an air bomb on the stupidiy being pushed down our throats.

Should probably just be "Obama is a psychopath" and 800000000 birther threads and just that, right? Or did I miss you complaining about that?

for those people who can think for themselves

Please do not follow that with someone else' catchphrase, please god do not follow that statement with someone else' words.

how has all that hope and change worked out for you all so far?

Doh!

Unless you are Sarah Palin, how is that thinking for yourself going?

for crying out loud why can people just take what they like from the parties and leave the stupidity behind?

Why does that sentiment seem harshly untrue when one takes a moment to peruse your threads and posting history? You do not seem so concerned with basically any kind of bashing on the left. Here you are all worried about civil discourse. So what's up with that?

blind followers either right or left is why there is no hope for this country.

Give us that Sarah Palin quote again.

to save this country is to save ourselves and for the love of aqua buddah rise above the stupidity

Some are unfortunately irrevocably drowning in it.

Before talking about stupidity so much, a spell check would have helped that seem convincing. Your post was fun. There is plenty of hate on ATS and you seem to be the last one that cares about it if it is aimed .0000005 degrees to the left or more. Tossing around Palin quotes has not worked for Palin. It did not really work for you. It sure as hell will not help America. We do not need people that can only "think for themselves" as far as a few catchphrases.

I hope to see you in a thread soon, complaining about it being yet another hate the left, hate Obama, hate democrats thread.

Perhaps I should have titled the thread, "Tea Party no longer trying to be deceptive about being the GOP".

Left or Right I think it is safe to say that neither have Americans best interests in mind. So quit the bickering back and forth already folks. It is getting old.

So you authored this thread? I do not think so. You only complain about threads you authored? I do not get that at all.

ok man your my master and i am your slave please by all means tell me what to think and do

By all means. Go ahead and preach about thinking for yourself and then repeating a Palin catchphrase. It was not an order, it was advice. Do what you like.

please by all means where did i say i supported palin or want anything to do with her?

You just whipped out one of her oldest lines.

I do not think you read before you respond at all.

i forgot that ats was school and reading and writing is the most important thing on here is what you think it should be.

You were the one going on and on about stupid people. Do you even read what you post?

really my bad

I know and it's all bad, isn't it?

the only thing i see in threads is you attacking other posters which is a big no no on here.

That's the only thing you see in threads? I cannot help what you look at. What I can help is pointing out what you missed. Your post was whining about "another hate the GOP thread" when you seem to have no problem contributing to all kinds of "hate the left" threads. I was just asking if maybe I missed you complaining about "another hate the left" thread somewhere.

I will take that as a no.

Can't say this is a surprise at all. Most everyone has known that the republicans had taken over the "Official" tea party.

I used to get angry when I saw this kind of crap, now it's just whatever. maybe a meteor will land on one of their rallies. That would be interesting.

Oh, they also go on to say that they will not support any 3rd party candidates, just the GOP.

Screw the tea party.

Vote for Ron Paul.

WOW! When did this Happen?!!

2nd line.

Just because they did not win does not mean they did not get votes.

Umm … no is quite right.

Even you should know better than to use blanket statements.

Let's be truthful here. You don't realistically expect that they would even consider voting for Obama, do you? As a matter of fact, who would consider voting for that loser? So what's the surprise here? They - every thinking adult - will make it their goal to get rid of the Boy Blunder. It's the right thing to do.

wrongo bongo

there is no better time than now for a 3rd party.

if not now, when? do we want until we have a great.president and then start.to.vote for 3rd party candidates since it won't matter when the lose? or how about we want for a mediocre president since it won't matter. but gosh forbid we vote for a 3rd party candidates when we have a horrible president since we mUSt absolutely vote for the establishment candidates to ensure president horrible loses because, deep down inside, we don't really believe all of our own rhetoric.

there is no better time to vote for third.party candidates than now. it is not a.wasted vote.

It's more about defeating Obama than proposing an agenda. Obama is on bee-line course to ruin our country. ANYONE would be better.
Now I'm sure that candidates will emerge in the coming months, that will redefine the message.

Just my two ameros

That is the exact same reason many (myself included) voted for Obama. We thought ANYONE would be better. I've learned better, I would hope others have too.
But there are always 3rd party candidates, throw them a vote if you can't stand the idea of voting for either of the big 2. I'm sure I will , that is if I vote at all.

The Tea Party was hijacked by the GOP pretty much as soon as it was formed. I mean, c'mon, the speakers at tea party rallies were the most popular people in the GOP party, e.g. Sarah Palin. The "tea party" candidates were always GOP. And most Americans are too dumb to realize this.

But the Tea Party isn't a 3rd party, it's the GOP under a different name. They want small government when it fits with their beliefs. If their beliefs require government intervention, then they are all for as much government intervention as necessary. It's the same thing that the GOP has been doing for years.
Look, I'm all for smaller government, but you're not gonna get it from any Tea Party candidates, they're all bought out by the GOP already. And by smaller government, I don't mean less regulation of big corporations. You know what happens when corporations aren't regulated? The gulf oil disaster. They put poison into our water. And much much more. And since the GOP is working for the corporations, when they say they want small government, all they mean is they don't want their friends to be regulated. What's funny is members of the GOP have literally said all of this. Maybe it's not so funny.

Yes, and what's the percentage of tea party votes that went to third party candidates?

The Tea Baggers are a ridiculous bunch...It was concieved with the efforts of Ron Paul supporters. Take a look now at one of these Tea Bagger rallies and all there is to see are a bunch of fear mongering, old, pasty baby boomers....aka birthers, aka Palin supporters.
I have no idea how the Tea Party ended up like this...It used to have noble, libertarian goals...And now it has been turned into the laughing stock of the nation. It went sour a few years ago though...anyway.

I think that depends on the Tea Party in question, and the people in question.

The Tea Party did not start out as being anti-Democrat, it was Anti-Republican (which makes it all the more hilarious that it's a GOP mouthpiece now...)

In the last federal election I would hazard a good guess that more people who align with "Tea Party" ideologies (excluding the Tea Party Express since it was technically part of the GOP) voted for Obama or 3rd parties over the Republicans. The real Tea Party'ers were very anti Republican..

Now however I would hazard a guess the vast majority would vote Repub. Both parties have alienated, abused and talked down to the Middle Class throughout the entire economic crisis, more and more people are probably falling into "the middle" where they recognize no one is standing up for them.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. The tea party was always influenced by the conservative party. They are one of the same. Anybody that says anything different is just a conservative hiding behind the tea party banner.

If you're really against the same old, same old in politics, throw your hat behind Ron Paul. He's the only one that speaks his mind and doesn't follow party platforms.
