New York prosecutors have asked Goldman Sachs to explain its behavior in the run-up to the financial crisis, the latest investigation that has cast a pall over the reputation of the largest U.S. investment bank.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. now faces probes by several government authorities into derivatives trades it executed in late 2006 and 2007. On Thursday, sources close to the matter said Goldman received a subpoena from the Manhattan district attorney, who joins the Justice Department and

I wonder if this subpoena actually has any teeth because our government is completely controlled by the globalist. Goldman Sachs is an arm of the global elite. Why would we anticipate any justice to come from the government when they haven't even reform legislation to regulate or break up the giant banking cartel that runs and influences our economy to government. The people can't rely on the government anymore. The people must become the government.

For to long the people have allowed the government to tell them what to do. From declaring war to sexually molesting citizens, and allowing the banks to rob the people. Time to grow up and end government madness. Don't anticipate much from them because they are controlled by the elites. You the people have the power and must use it.

If the investigation does have teeth, like you say, it would represent a real change in policy.

I'm skeptical of that though, and more than likely this will just be a farce to help cover up the real corruption, so they can say "We already went to court once over this and proved we did everything right!"

I'd ask how one of goldmans competitors, lehman bro's, was allowed to go under, and not deemed "too big to fail"

maybe because an old goldman guy, hank paulson, was calling shots ?

hmmmm.....

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of scumbags. Enjoy taking it in the neck, fellas.

However, I share the doubts of others in this thread...this could be (and probably is) a cosmetic move on somebody's behalf...pin the blame on some scapegoat in the company so you can give the illusion of justice being done, then go back to doing business as usual. Goldman Sachs is a company that seems to be able to "forecast" market moves to the penny. If they have that "unique ability," rigging a humble DA's office should be no problem.
