Preparing For An Emergency

The UK government will shortly be delivering booklets to all UK homes, with information on how to 'prepare for an emergency'.

The booklet outlines situations including terrorist attacks, bombs, exposure to chemical and biological agents, etc.

Does anyone else think that given the current terror alert in the US, this seems a little... weird? Perhaps the government knows something about a planned co-attack on the UK?

It is weird but I want to know why we haven't been given any information on how to "prepare for an emergency." Ever since this newest terrorist alert, the government has given us everything except how to prepare. Now I found that odd and irresponisble.

Yeah that is weird, given that the US is the primary target.

You mean the use of 'fear tactics', to strip the population of their basic civil rights and liberties, so that they eventually willingly hand over total power to the government. This way there is no use of force, and the government can continuously use said tactics to control the people for years to come.

Thats exactly what I ment.

IMO thats exactly the way it'll happen. No (or little) violence as such will be used, mind control techniques taking its place. This way the public will believe the government has it's best interests in mind, all the while the government is accumulating more and more power from a gullible population.
