OTTAWA — Food and drink products from Taiwan tainted with a toxic chemical may have found their way into Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency warned Sunday as a local food-safety scandal goes global.

I am from Taiwan and recently my parents told me about this latest scandal on tainted drinks. This is huge news in Taiwan but I haven't heard about it here in the states. Apparently, a company have been illegally using DEHP in their products. They have removed nearly half a million bottles of drinks from shelves over fears. Taipei Times reported some 167 food ingredient suppliers face recalls.

This chemical is banned and is used as a toxic industrial plasticizer substitute for the more expensive palm oil.
Stay away from boba drinks for a while! In the asian communities in Los Angeles there is a boba drink shop in every corner. When this news breaks out, I'm not sure what will happen to them, not sure if it's all correlated though. I have been drinking this stuff for years. Great

Good looking out but, I'm sure this stuff is no worse than gmo or High fructose corn syrup.
We been poisoning ourselves for a while here in the US.
Hell, we have things here labeled organic and/or natural that are nothing but.pure evil in a box/bottle.

there there im sure its pale in comparison to whats in our water and the food we eat here in the USA on a daily basis.

-FD&C red 40/caramel color
-Blue 1
-Yellow 5,6
-Fluoride ion(in the water)
-Arsenic(in the well water)
-Lithium(in the water)
-Estrogens(in the water)
-testosterone(in the meat)
-Sodium Benzoate + Acsorbic Acid(creates benzene and benzoic acid in the body)
