Was not sure whether to post at all , but there has been some really odd military activity over Cardiff, two sea king helicopters circling around the Heath and Roath area of the city, one constant circle with each bird doing at least 25 full circles. During this time what looked like a lynx flew past as well. Then a minute ago I could make out a Chinook flying over the Trowbridge area of the city.

I have lived here about 15 years and never seen any military actiity, apart from a flypast a couple years back. The nearest military base is RAF St Athan, but thats just a training centre. Anybody else see them?

Just to add the Sea kings have started circling again but one of them is doing it in the opposite direction to the other, really surprised how low they are.

Been lurking for months but as this is on my doorstep I thought I'd finally contribute .

I'm heading into town from the Bay shortly so I can't comment on the Military activity but I'll certainly be keeping my eyes peeled .

I have seen a few times last week however , a small helicopter with some crop spraying type booms either side , spraying something over the Mount Stuart Square area . Later the same afternoon it was circling the Port entrance just off from the Red Dragon Centre .

Odd to say the least .

I think Torchwood is trying to close the rift that is causing people to be immortal.
From what I hear Capt. J. Harkness is in control of the situation.

Sounds like it might be linked to operation SAXON WARRIOR
a large scale exercise in south wales and england

The spraying most likely wasnt linked to the exercise.
But your there in the are so you know if its farm land etc.
keep an eye out and see if it comes again.
the other helicopters i say is the training exercise..

Would seem the most likely scenario, even if the article states that the operation will avoid urban centres, thanks for the info

We're a bit of a distance from any farmland . Plus the spraying was visible over a residential/office area not 200yds from a Primary School .

I saw that helicopter last week too, over the docks / bay area. Definitely looked it was out to spray something. They do get a lot of algae and flies this time of year in Cardiff Bay, maybe there's a connection there? I believe the blue-green algae can be poisonous producing toxins that affect the nervous system
