Hi guys,

Have anyone of this board tried the Hemi-sync technology?
www.hemi-sync.com...

I have had some strange experiences with the Hemi-sync and it would be interesting if more people than me have had experiences with the technology.

No never tried Hemi-Sync but I know that it uses binureal beat technology. I use Brainwave Generator which uses the same principles. So the effect is somewhat similar. It does cause weird sensations and alters your state of mind. I've practiced enough to acheive most of the deep relaxation without the need for any software. Most people report it causes different mental effects, and I agree.

I works... it tricks your mind into an alternate awareness ..I ve bought tapes with this technology and I enjoy it.....
though the ancient approach to alt. awareness works...but distraction is always present...hemi sync tech allows you to enjoy old ways with new methods...learn first with endurance and concentration...and then the hemisyc tapes are like a playground for your mind!

I haven't used Hemi-sync, but have used Brainwave Generator.

Brainwave Generator produced a lot of results for me, depending which sounds I used. I found one of the funnest things to do was to meditate myself to gnosis, then have someone else start the program. That would produce some interesting results, one time I actually had a very brief OOBE from doing that.

I think I may look into Hemi-sync and try it out, see what it can do for me.

link to a free free binaural trance-inducing track

www.astralpulse.com...

ive used it before and was only able to get to the point where i felt my entire body shaking. im not sure how long i was shaking but once i became aware of it...i became distracted and started losing focus.

www.astralpulse.com...
Note: it is 82Mb / 60m / 192kbps .mp3

Those of you who have Hemi-Sync materials will find the sound very similar. The binaural profile is similar to Holosync, so those of you who have it may want to try to compare; those of you who don't - may just want to try.

I'd like to say a couple of words regarding the trance state. I think that the term "mind awake / body asleep" is a bit misleading. A more proper term, in my opinion, would be "awareness awake / everything else asleep". This distinction is subtle but important. A thought running through your head is characterized by high-frequency signals in your brain. Trance state, however, requires the brain frequency to be sufficiently low. That is why it is important to prevent yourself from thinking about various crap after you've done your muscular relaxation routine. However, since it is difficult not to think at all, most people concentrate either on breathing, chakras, incrementing numbers, switching colors representing "mind awake" and "body asleep", etc. I want to stress that it is important to keep your concentration and prevent yourself from snapping back into high-frequency thinking activity.

With this track, you may want to try to concentrate on the low-frequency binaural wobbling in the lower end of the frequency spectrum, which slows down as you go along.

To summarize the important points:
- Completely relax your body.
- Relaxation of the body is necessary, but not sufficient. You must free your mind from any sort of thoughts.
- Concentrate on one thing, on which you can hold your concentration easily. If you catch yourself thinking about something else - simply get back on track.
- Stay aware.

Last night I was lying on my back listening to the track concentrating on the wobble. At some point I felt the vibes approaching. I start thinking very fast "I shouldn't lose it. Must stay relaxed. Mouth salivating... should I swallow now? Will it break off the concentration? Left leg itching - what a bad timing. And the eyelids do not appear to be properly relaxed - twitch a little. Gotta relax them ASAP!!!" By that time I found myself completely alert (although still relaxed), while the vibes, of course, went bye-bye. Now you know what NOT to do.

Good luck.

Hemi-Sync and Holo-Sync are really nice... The put you down good. While listening to them you can lose all sense of your body, as if you're in a big void. That's when you're in the theta range.

Bwgen does it also.

Here are some more brainwave entrainment mp3's (+plus extra's!!!)..

This sounds fun! I can't wait to get home and try it. Can I get any agreement on the best one to use?

I have been messing around with Brainwave Generator for the past couple of hours and I have to say it is definitely interesting. I can't quite describe the feeling, but it is putting me in some quite strange states. I'm even considering buying the package. Does anyone have experience with other programs that they feel are better in comparison?

I would suggest brainwave generator, becuase you can make your own preset's or download others from their website. I've tried a few and some are quite good. I've yet to run across another program that's similair to Bwgen. Purchase isn't even required as there's a nifty way to enable installation of new presets. If you need more info, U2U

I am a little bit confused:

Since mp3 is a destroying algorithm, mp3'ing a hemi-sync (or other similar cd's) would destroy the "noise-pattern", shouldn't it?

Let me explain:

I have used Hemi-sync for a while, most of the time the Cd's "Surf" and "Pain Control" (although I have "Concentration also) and never had any bad experience with them, just a relaxed state of mind that is quite de-stressing.

However, I did the mistake of purchasing the CD "Catnapper" that promised to deliver a short "deep-sleep" state compressed to 30 minutes.

When I tried "Catnapper" the effect of it was awful I can tell you.
I dragged me literally down from wide awake to semi-sleep or sleep in a really short timeperiod, I felt that I was falling trough my bed, which wasn't that comforting. 20-25 minutes into the CD I was startled (I actualy jerked) by loud noises or "cracks" and faint voices. Sometimes when I am going to sleep and I can hear music or other sounds, but this wasn't like it.

When I woke up I wasn't really sure whether I had imagined it all so...

and here comes the explanation to my question above!

..I dumped the whole CD as *mp3*, knowing that the destroying algorithm probably would break the Hemi-sync sound, letting my losten to it without the not-so-pleasant effect, and it did.

The mp3'ing did break the hemi-sync noise and I could hunt down the cracks and voices.

In fact, the LOUD cracks that I heard was some moderately low audible cracks on the CD (I have noticed other times that Hemi-Sync can heighten you senses, so the LOUD cracks were in fact not loud at all, just percieved by me as really loud, loud eough to make me jerk!) and the voices...

Well, therer were faint voices on the CD (although Hemi-Sync states that they do not use subliminic voices at all) but I couldn't hear what they were saying. Turns out - at least that is my theory - that this was in fact "audio-contamination" from the mastertape, the one you can hear on compact cassettes sometime, when audio from "the other side of the tape" leaks through. I contacted Hemi-Sync and they thought that this indeed was the case, and wanted me to send the CD back, which I did.

For me, mp3 totally broke the effect, wouldn't it be the same with the mp3-tracks mentioned in this thread too?

Thanks Bandit for the free downloads !! I have used hemi-sync for about 10 years now , and i was not aware anyone else was doing work in this field i thought the monroe institute was the only one. Cant wait to test it out against hemi-sync.

But once again, wouldn't mp3 destroy the "noise-pattern", rendering the track useless?

Here is a similar brainwave entrianment product:

Insight and Focus

This was advertised as an alternative to Holosync. I have both the Insight and Focus cds and I like them for a couple reasons:

1) Price. $50 (US dollar) for the complete set is cheap compared to other systems.

2) With the complete set, you get both a "relaxation" cd and a "concetration" cd. The relax cd is split into three tracks so you can vary the length of your session. The concetration cd also has a "creativity" track and a more intense concentration track. I like to use the concetration cd to wake up in the morning and the relaxation cd to relax at night.

3) The cds all sound like gentle rain. I can listen to the concetration cd while doing other things, and still hear the sounds of my environment.

4)If you wish, you can buy the cds separately.

As for results, I cannot report anything too profound, but the cds really do help me relax or concentrate.

I would like to hear more about other people's experiences with these kind of products. In the realm of self-development, there are so many books and systems out there that it is rare and precious to find anything that is both simple and effective.

If anyone knows of any other tools that are simple and effective, please share!

I was one of the folks they tested Hemi-sync on while I was in the army... This was in '82 while I attended the Defense Information School. We had a grueling class schedual squeezing 4 years of college level journalism training into 4 months... The used it to help us focus... it worked for me.

I tried using a 'Hemi-Sync' audio file a few months ago and I suffered from awful side-effects. I have a thread about it here.

Has anyone else had any trouble after listening to these types of audio files? Or does anyone know a way of returning to normal after using such files? Thanks.

My People!!! I was googling Hemi Sync because I had a weird experience with it last night and found this group of facinating people. What luck!
I am a little concerned because at the end of my meditation (falling asleep) my brain/head had electric activity - like vibrations in my head - I felt like I was on the "Enterprise" and Scotty was beaming me up. I noticed on the site that they said if you are subject to seizures, you should not use. This is as close to a seizure as I think I have gotten. Has anyone else had this? Perhaps its part of the experience. THanks Guys/Gals! Nice to meet everyone.
